I just did my 1 year/20k service last week - 3rd at Glenmarie. They've never asked me if I wanted a wash, but just done it anyway. Although as mentioned, it's just a basic wash. I don't think you have much to worry about if it's your first service. They did ask me if I wanted to check my alignment and tire rotation on my 10k and 20k, and I probably should have, but declined. It's an added charge but I was short on time.

On a side note, Mazda must be selling very well because compared to 1 year ago, the amount of ppl doing servicing is probably triple what it was before.

5) Rattling sound at B-pillar when going through uneven roads. (I have yet to get this fixed, but SC says it might be the loose wiring harness is hitting its surrounding in the B-pillar, need to open it up to check. I will check back upon next service.)

Yes, I fixed it at Mazda Glenmarie HQ. Did you encounter weird knocking sound coming from steering when going over uneven road, or repeat turning steering a bit to the left and right fast fast?

"krak" or "tak" sound?

My Mazda 2 ownership experience isn't enjoyable at all.

Just got off the phone with Bermaz PJ service center. Had to yell at the guy, the first time I yelled at any service center in my life.

Everyone knows the Mazda 2 has a problem with the lower arm bush, making a krak krak sound when the steering is turned. The guy told me they couldn't hear it so I asked him to just jack up the car and look at the part. He refused and wanted me to go test drive with him. They won't check until they can hear the sound even though they know about the problem. Even the service center counter guy acknowledged it's common.

There's also an intermittent squeaking sound when the central lock is unlocked but they couldn't hear it so to them it doesn't exist and they won't check.

There's also a rattling sound on the left that no one can find.

Previously it was the issue with the battery dying an early death.

This car is just 2 years and a few days old.

Won't be buying anymore Mazdas after this.

So I've been driving the M2 GVC for about a month, one thing I notice about this car is that the pickup is sluggish when accelerating from standstil eg. stopping to turn into a road, feels like it's taking quite some time for the car to pick up speed. Sometimes when trying to turn a road, by the time I am parallel with the road the car behind me is already so close.

One other instance is when trying to ascend on steep incline ( ~20° to 30°) e.g. entering multilevel car park, the car seems to struggle to pick up speed. When I depress the fuel pedal a little harder then only it will rush forward in a not so smooth way...

Just wondering what could be done about this?

New update on the noisy front suspension knocking issue case, and undercarriage exhaust heat shield.

UPDATE: 11/01/2018

There is a new design revision for Mazda 2 front strut assembly (absorber, spring, top mount bearing, etc.) and intermediate shaft.

Any owner has experienced noisy front suspension knocking issue should have theirs change under warranty at SC. If the SC you visited do not know this info, please ask them to call Mazda PJ technical branch to enquire more info about this. If you have replaced the items one-by-one previously, you are still entitled to this fix, provided you can replicate the sound to the SC technician test driving with you. Usually, the sound will be present when you are turning the steering wheel while reverse parking, you can hear the kruk kruk sound from the front.

Secondly, when you turn the steering a little to the left and right about the centre repetitively in a rapid manner, you can also hear and feel some knocking through the steering wheel, please have your intermediate shaft replaced under warranty too.

Thirdly, when you are driving on highway speed (80km/h and above), you may hear some fluttering sound from undercarriage, please have your exhaust heat shield checked and replaced under warranty if necessary, the metal piece might have broken off on their own at the hole where the bolt/washer is holding it in place. It will make fluttering sound during highway speed. If you do not send in soon, it will drop off eventually and scrape the ground. You have to replace it under your own cost. A few owners have encountered this issue and paid from their pockets previously.

As of this update, I am still monitoring whether the noisy front suspension knocking issue is permanently solved or not. Mazda 2 Skyactiv Club has communicated with Bermaz and in full support that these findings be reported to Mazda Japan, in hopes that Mazda Japan takes note of these weaknesses and come up with improved solution to the current and eliminate these weaknesses in future Mazda 2 generations.

To all current Mazda 2 DJ owners, please take note of this and check your noisy front suspension knocking issue with your SC if you experienced the above symptoms.

Will post updates on the suspension in a month's time...

Just done the 70k service with fully syn 5W-40.. Fuhh.. The difference is so obivous. Mazda should just include the fully syn oil for us during free service period

My m2's aircond is dead - no cold air at all. It's already 3 years old, is it normal? Aircond guy said need to replace condenser and repair hose for 1.2k including workmanship. Is this price ok?

Anyone can recommend me alternatives for swapping out battery aside from the service center in Selangor area? Its the same leaking issue again i think, the i-stop blinking in orange color non stop. Its like every 18 months will have this kind of issue, and 600+ for swapping to new battery is really ^^;;;; was thinking if there are other shops that can do the same, but at lower prices.
