It has been discussed a lot already. If you need a family car Honda City is ur car, if you want sportiness, M2 is ur car, if you want empty value for money den Almera is ur car, if you are Toyota fan boy den Vios is God car.
I usually just change the rotor as it can last about 2-3 years for me.

have you tested M2?
if u look for resale value, M2 is not for u

I'm using something similar but from Megular. I used Turtlewax rubbing compound to "unscratch" my wife's mystique purple Myvi.
Regret never do coating for that car.
Just look for leather treatment solution (spray type) from Turtlewax or Megula's. They should be sufficient.
Resale value based on history u can forget about it if you choose Mazda (whichever model) but I have confidence Mazda RV will catch up in the future though not sure about M2 yet. Maintenance cost is pretty much standard for engine oil, air filter, oil filter, etc but Mazda and Nissan give 3 years or 60000km whichever comes 1st. After that 3 years, drive shaft, suspensions, bearings, etc would probably hurt more than the other brands. In this sense, Nissan would cost the lowest.

Plastic feel is pretty standard for all cars but M2 feels a bit more premium due to the PU leather finishing and carbon fiber trim here and there. Plus the MZD connect screen and the control knob feels like BMW or Audi.

All the things I said in my previous post still stands. If you intend to buy as family car and travel long distance with family, you should consider Honda City. Vios only selling point is the projector headlamp and resale value.

a good value car still the honda city. even honda hater must to admit that. it practical, stylish, good resale value, cheaper maintenance, more airbag.
It still the king of everyday hero car in Malaysia.

But when come to something around the hairpin, mazda do better.
it the "most" beautiful car in B segment (my personal opinion). none in B segment can beat it interior sexiness (where you gonna be for whole driving time).
Mazda 2 owners claim the 2 drive lot better than city (fun to drive) and it most fuel saving car (base on paultan review).

im not an expert. i just do a LOT of reading and watching vids regarding M2. i mean it, a LOT of study from local review to global review to comparison of the car.
i also still in waiting list to get one. probably end of this may according to my sa. so no real owner comments from me.

since we here are not in the right place to state the decision for you, here a few questions for you to answer the get your decision.
i cast out vios here. this is between city and m2.

1) do you have a small family or medium? - the most important!

2) how many passenger will always be with you?

3) is many airbag is important to you?

4) is resale value really mean a big thing to you?

5) do you prefer plain practical car or well equip car?

6) 5 year labor free vs 3 year labor and part, which do you prefer?

7) what will you drive the car for? working? family travel?

there probably many question to ask but for now this is what i can think of.

1) The reason why I am willing to buy a Mazda is because I don't plan to sell it so soon. As someone pointed out, after 5 - 7 years the resale value between a H and a M is different but minimal. If you're planning to sell in 2 - 3 years time, the difference can be huge.

2) I have a service schedule which my SA shared with me which includes GST, assuming the price list doesn't change after the 3 years or 60,000km whichever is earlier, the average cost of maintenance including parts and labour and GST is about RM360. Please take note that I have averaged out the cost by adding the total of each service interval (which is a combo of minor and major service) then divide by 11. It only shows me till the 11th service or 100,000km or 5 years. It does not include costs like changing spare parts like brake disc, suspension and the usual stuff that you need to change from wear and tear.

It shows engine oil, oil filter, packing/gasket, air filter, cabin filter, fuel pump - feed filter, fuel filter, brake fluid..only

I can't rememer what coolant was it that the maintenance guy told me that does not need to be changed at all for the entire lifetime of the car, engine coolant? or is it air con coolant?..can't remember leh.

With bigger car comes bigger FC. More electronics more bugs. With less instalments you have more money to go overseas for your holiday. Don't need big cars.

why will you regret your  choice if you've decided to purchase M2? if you want to regret, don't buy it...nobody pointing gun at your head and force you to buy it.

save money... take public transport...

There is no regret when buying a car, it will be your best friend for at least next 4 years.

Now you are making a decision for a car, we can only help you with users feedback, honestly answered. There are pro and con in every car, no car is perfect for everyone, so it is up to you to decide whether M2 HB/SDN or other car you are considering will serve you well.

Only people who are indecisive in their decision making, will regret buying any of their choice. Stay firm on your decision, as you have considered all possible outcome and have psychologically prepared for it, you already got future gameplan when you have acquired the car.

E.g. The once tyre problem of M2 owner, now everyone know SC do sell them, of course at a slightly higher price @ RM450/pc, but at least it is available now. And soon, other tyre shops will have it. We brought up the tyre issue before, and at least you are aware of it now, and can develop a gameplan on how to acquire new tyres when the time comes. Tyres are to be used for a long time so RM450/pc is not unaffordable. It is part of car maintenance cost.

And modding the headlight issue too.

I see a lot of M2 owners here are problem solver. We solve problem, not create.

2) Yup - In the cup holder/box by the centre handbrake console..but I don't carry coins in the car..so..go figure

Best you go see the actual car yourself =) You'll be able to judge better if it suits what you need

Hahaha..you can fit 2 bottles OR cans..as they only have 2 holders at the centre console..and one at each front door

The door pockets is quite big..bigger than my Neo..that's for sure

Cables can be stored nicely in the side pocket and take out when necessary..opened can/bottles can use the centre holders..and I believe it suits those 500ml bottles..not any larger

Smart tag can fit at side pockets/glove box

Keys also can be placed at the square box in the centre square

PS: I don't carry much things in the car

My turn. I own a sedan for about a month now and:

1) Phone: I either keep my phones (I have 2) in my belt pouch or on my air vent phone holder.

2) Coins - I don't see anywhere to put my coins. Probably gonna get a small mug or something and put at my door panel. Unless you willing to sacrifice your 2 (only 2) cup holders.

3) Stuffs - Well, I bought a plastic bag hanger to hang some groceries or other stuff in plastic bags like take away food there. It hooks to my headrest. Not sure about other stuff.

4) Others - same as the above? I notice a hook on the handle thingy. Not sure what's it called at the rear passenger door. Can hang clothes there if you need to.

Legal for LED, illegal for HID.

Prepare RM10k for that for module + airbag + installation...
