well good for u fren..have u tested it with a test pen underneath the keyboard?

i think the built in heat control system is not very good..tats why temp go very high b4 the fan turns on...i don't have such problems when using 3rd party temp control...
*
the testpen light is on, will request a change maybe wink.gif what is your temp. setting in I8kfanGUI? maybe dell would release a new bios which caters C2D fan spin threshold limit.

guys, i wanna ask, is paying rm530 to get the additional 2 years warranty really worth it? i'm talking about those with 1 year warranty cover. "complete cover" is the most complete package? last time i read somewhere in this forum that there's 2 package offered by dell. can someone elobarate a little regarding this? thanks
*
You also receive the mail from dell? Offer you to upgrade your warranty, right? For me i think it is worth and I going to upgrade it. Look at the mail properly, it is 1 year next business day + 1 year complete cover. I think dell offer 2 kind of warranty, 1 is complete cover, another 1 is limitted warranty which not complete cover some damage.

there are a few packages actually...like 3 year complete and limited warranty, 3 yrs limited warranty, 1 year Complete cover, 2 years limited 1 year complete cover...or 1year complete and limited. but basically for explanation sake, its either complete cover, or limited warranty...limited warranty doesn cover accidental drops or spills, wherelse complete cover covers accidents...so obviously CC is much beta. yes it is very worth it as u got a peace of mind that they will repair and replace ur laptop even if u accidentally drop it into longkang...more details go to front page or dell.com.my...

requested liao, a replacement will reach me by next wk. will I8kfanGUI conflict with NHC? i like NHC's cpu voltage control feature, the heat dissipation is lesser with voltage reduced and yet the system is still rock stable. maybe tonite will try to reduce voltage further down to 3-steps lower.

@PaiNai, advice noted.

a question to all, do u guys use Intel® PROSet/Wireless software or uninstall it? i find this bloated software is resource hogging. We can uninstall it and use back window's default one, rite? Thks~

it is depend on ur budgets and how r u going to use ur notebook ...

if u r a heavy user which allow ur notebook to be on at least more than 15hours++ and alwayz BT , then the RM530 is good enuf to cover the risk of notebook spoilt within this 3yrs...

Bcoz for a notebook , the Processor and motherboard is the most expensive part which can at least maybe cost u around RM1000++ and if ur mobo spoilt , u r going to dig ur wallet if there r no more warranty for it ...

So , it is encourage to get it bcoz it does cover lighting strike and everything except thief...If it is lost , then this 1 not covered lar... biggrin.gif

Dell does offered 2 package that is limited warranty and completecover.

Limited warranty is juz warranty the part and labor and does not cover any unintentional accident . The different is juz if u drop ur notebook , limited warranty juz cover the change of ur mobo , hdd , processor and ect , while completecover allow u to hav a new replacement unit if ur system is drop and cannot be repair anymore .

"the screen is normal. its due to the design of widescreen lcds".. i was like WTF!@ noob tech support. then told me dat eventhough he changed it for me, the result wud be the same.. *sigh*.. in the end.. i jus got adapter replacement only...

Intel® PROSet/Wireless software runs fine on my system too, just that it involves too many process handlers (EvtEng, RegSrvc, WLKeeper, S24EvMon, ifrewrk, ZCfgSvc), so think out want to squeeze more juice for other application tongue.gif

go to task manager and look at processes, those EvtEng, RegSrvc, WLKeeper, S24EvMon, ifrewrk, ZCfgSvc processes are belong to it, and they consume close to 40MB resource if i'm not mistaken rclxub.gif
