I was exploring options of buying a digital piano in KL and came across several dealers selling new pieces at very low prices (less than half of market price) in locanto/ adpost. On contacting them, they asked for payment first and then they would deliver it. No in-person deal and they are reluctant to share their contact details.

Does anyone know if they are genuine, or is it a scam?

I do not understand how can they offer pianos at such low prices? Seems too good to be true.

Lastly, can someone suggest best places in KL to try digital pianos and buy them at a good price, I am bent towards kawai entry level model, but open to other brands as well. I could be OK with grey market without warranty as long as product is genuine.

This has already rang a bell in you. it means u should avoid.

every retailer has a profit margin given by the manufacturer. if the price is too low, it means they are hardly making any profit. which brings us to the point whereby if the seller selling too low, it is most likely a scam.

i suggest that u either COD or else walk-in to any proper music shop i.e CK Music (Korg), TGS (Casio), Yamaha (yamaha) or Bentley / Roland (roland) to try out the digital pianos and get it there if you like them.

Thank you for reply. I just thought if its something like duty free and commonly known as prices of the pianos 'made in Japan' in Japan are quite low. Not worth the risk though now.

Thanks again for alternative suggestions.
