I have fixed 2 units out of focus unit myself. I will share the guide later. Quite easy anyway.

Plastic seal around the box? Yes. Had to use scissor to cut it off.

Regarding focus issue, I'm not sure how close can I have it be? That image has a soft output but I'm okay with that. Have not gone outside yet to try different focus set.

Try take a few picture outdoor scenery and indoor. Far and close shot and share it here. Some of the pro here might able to help u. Cheers

BTW. I know that this is a Xiaoyi thread. So I sort of know the answer that I will get. Haha. But I wanna know anyways. What is the advantage the Yi has over SJ4000? They are priced really close but the SJ has a backscreen. Quality wise? Anybody has experience with both?

sensor : aptina vs sony ( u see also know which sensor better)
vid res: xiaoyi 1080p 60fps (xiaoyi can do 480p 240fps and 720p 120fps) vs sj4000 1080p 30fps
lens: 16mp vs 12mp

in other way around:
sj4000 got 1.5" screen, got include all sorts of accesories( waterproof case)
and lens angle wider than xiaoyi 170 vs 150 degree (i think la, correct me if im wrong)

Thanks! Good comparison. Yup indeed from the samples the Yi has better quality pix. Is the monopod really nice? It looks nice. But not sure to spend extra RM40 for it. Tonight is the last night for Lazada promo if you guys are interested. I am still deciding.....

if u want the original Bluetooth shutter, can buy together with the monopod later.
