If you remember my previous Archer C7 review, this is a follow up review as I need a USB wireless adapter for my desktop computer. I immediately consider TP-LINK Archer T4U mainly due to the affordable price.

Quick Specs:
• USB 3.0
• Wireless AC1200
• Wireless AC up to 867Mbps on 5Ghz
• Wireless N up to 300Mbps on 2.4Ghz
• Come with 2 years warranty

Hardware Overview
The Archer T4U come with standard USB stick design with glossy finish. There’s a green LED to indicate the wireless activity. The size is bigger than your usual wireless-N wireless adapter for sure as it is a high performance wireless adapter.

TP-LINK include a really good USB 3.0 extension cable. The wire is thick and no noticeable signal lost when using the extension cable. You are able to place your wireless adapter at a better position for optimum signal reception.

Wireless Performance
The performance is good. On real world test with around 5M distance to the test router, I am able to achieve a very respectable 30.39MB/s (243.12Mbps) for upload and 35.55MB/s (284.4Mbps) for download.

If you remember my Archer C7 Review, my Macbook Air perform 5MB/s slower on the same condition.

Test router: TP-LINK Archer C7.

Wireless Coverage
It is quite good, I am able to receive more access point around my area. Signal lost is less than my other device as well. I can’t show any data for this unfortunately.

TP-LINK software
The software is very basic, it is not necessary to install it if you don’t need those extra feature.

The software does allow you to toggle the power saving control and configure the SoftAP feature which I don’t use.

Conclusion
It is a good and really affordable wireless adapter. It cost around RM90 which is a lot cheaper than other wireless adapter of similar specification. I am really surprised for what I got for the price.

It perform well and the range is quite good. If you are looking for a new wireless adapter to pair with your new wireless router, this is highly recommended. The included high quality USB extension cable is a plus.

Nicely done. I, too, personally own one and I must agree that it is a solid product that comes at an excellent price.
