Tried burning DVD movies using neroVision, with every available transcoding quality option (I used 720x480) on it excluding "Super Long Play" and whenever I play it on a DVD player, the image tends to get stretched outta the screen a bit.

Here's a better explanation of my problem;

Red dotted lines represent the max height of my tv.
Red thin lines represent the actual image height being displayed.

Yeah, so its like the images are stretched to the extent of subtitles going out of the window.

Will 704x480 be able to solve the problem? Any idea?

I assume you want to burn anime (maybe other movie) in NTSC format ? Maybe I'm wrong but I faced the same problem. Most of the time the subtitle is expanded & causing problem to read it. I cannot figure out yet but I think the setting at DVD player or TV need to change into NTSC (format).

704 x 480 ? Not sure. Previously, you burn as 740 x 480. You just change the H (horizontal) pixel but remain unchange on V (vertical) pixel.

Maybe you can try & give the result here.

Thanks and sorry about that, will include tag the next time I create a thread.

After tonnes of trial and error (checked my TV's supported resolutions, DVD player's specs and piles of wasted DVD medias), I finally managed to come to an answer. Fixed the height problem by selecting PAL mode over NTSC and fiddling around with available resolutions (D1, 1/2D1 etc). Subtitles appear perfectly now, but I'm still not satisfied with the horizontal side of the image.

PAL mode did it tongue.gif, just need to pick the right resolution and ratio now!

You should buy DVD-rewritable for experimenting. Mine have couple blank RW for testing purpose.
