Dominos after the new refresh no longer accepts AMEX.

To pay with AMEX
1. Choose the cash option on checkout and pickup from the store. Can tap card to pay (tried it and they're still accepting AMEX in store)
2. If you have the old mobile app, can still use AMEX via payment there (not sure how long can use the old app)

Not sure what's the version number (on iOS), but it's no longer on the App Store.
The old app was called "Domino's Pizza Malaysia". The new one is just "Domino's".

If you've downloaded it before, you can go to your Purchases and install it again from there.

Went to a few Alpro pharmacy and they all removed the Maybank terminal. Previously they had HLB + 1 counter with Maybank. I asked what happened and they said had issues with the terminal. But they also replaced the accepted card stickers at the entrance, so I don't think AMEX will be coming back there already

Yes eligible for 5% cashback or 1x point if im not mistaken. They will take the lumpsump amount to give those rewards. Those monthly payments towards that instalment won't provide any cb or points

Actually I've asked Apple Support on this. They said for the time being it's removed but even they're confused on why it's gone.



If that store allows you then probably yeah. But I do believe most stores will only accept cash for topups. No harm in checking at your nearest petrol stations.

Just to ask anyone else that might have faced this issue.

Previously I had no issues paying with AMEX at any Shell station, but one of them if I tap or insert card it will show Declined.

On the receipt printed from pump terminal it shows error "Declined 109 or 199" (receipt faded a bit).
Asked the counter and she said no issues with Amex, even said there was a customer sometime before me that paid and had no issues. Asked Maybank and they said no issue with my card, as it works at any other Shell station

Nvm they're going to retire the app by 30 July 2024. Only way is to order online, choose cash and wave your AMEX in store

Ah I see, yeap there is already a new app for it. The old one would be retired by the end of the month, should have made that clearer

Ah, I kinda figured out that it was paying via Apple Pay caused the issue. Using my card directly worked no issue. How to fix it? No idea, but maybe removing the card and adding it again might fix it, but I just couldn't be bothered to try it.

FYI this only happened specifically at this station, using AMEX via card or Apple Pay anywhere else had no problem.

Can only use Amex at Aeon at the till with cashier. Those self checkout terminals don't accept Amex

Just checking on a few and yes some of them allow AMEX payment method. Not sure if this is because it's the older versions or if they're bringing back AMEX.

Uniqlo MY online has and still takes AMEX, and a decent number of stores have also updated their terminals to take AMEX too.

Sometimes Maybank just blocks transactions. You can always give them a call and see what's up. But I've used my conventional AMEX before and had no issues.

If not mistaken, from last year only a few tills accept AMEX

Accepts AMEX: KFC with RHB terminal at the self order terminal
Have to use physical card with the terminal, just select Mastercard/Visa option and tap away.
Just can't use Apple Pay. If you tap, it will ask for your PIN but even if you put the right one in, it will reject the payment.
However, you can still use AMEX via Apple Pay at the counter which still use Maybank terminals
(edit: they removed Maybank terminals, so must use physical Amex card only to tap or pin, no more Amex via Apple Pay)

Accept AMEX: TGV with RHB terminal
These works regardless of physical card or Apple Pay as they even got the AMEX icon on the terminals.
(edit: Amex via Apple Pay only seems to work when buying from the self-service ticket counter with the box terminal.
When using Amex via Apple Pay, the terminal machine at the snack bar will ask for pin and error out. So have to use physical card at these places)

Accept AMEX: GSC with HLB terminal
Works with physical card and Apple Pay. It will ask you to tap twice for some reason. Sometimes the self-service kiosk has issues so better to buy tickets online anyways.

Accept AMEX: Chennai Spice @Glomac, Cyberjaya with Maybank terminal
It's near to the Express store. Plus, food tastes better compared to the other store anyways.

ACCEPTS AMEX
Mercato (Gurney Plaza Penang) with AmBank terminal. They default to an AffinBank terminal so you must tell them you're paying via AMEX, then they'd switch terminals.
Paid via Apple Pay. Had to enter pin weirdly enough but payment went through.
I assume if paid via physical card it would have paid normally via contactless.

Ah so it isn't just me then. Also, that pin issue thingy also happens on Maybank's terminals too.

Yes, some of them don't. No sign to identify which do and which don't.
I just go to counter 1-3. The last ones (7-8 etc) don't seem to accept it (based off a few Lotus's I've been to), even if they have the same machine at every counter (CIMB machine)

Yep this is the way. Do NOT topup to ShopeePay wallet then pay SPayLater. That doesn't count.

Huh, the one I went at Gurney had the LCD. When I mentioned AMEX, they went to get the AmBank terminal and disconnected the AffinBank one.
