Just realized that one can now pay maxis bills using amex by registering with the maxis pay system. Direct debit or manually pay both ways are possible.

Thanks for pointing that out. smile.gif

Using Maxis Pay with American Express Credit Cards, the payment is instantly reflected in Maxis Online Portal, as compared to paying through Maybank2u website with American Express Credit Cards.

Then again, we can gain more cashback, if we pay with other online cashback credit cards, rather than using American Express Credit Cards.

-----
At first, Sushi King (http://sushi-king.com) has disallowed debit card, as a form of payment.

Effective from 1 February 2017, Sushi King will not accept American Express Credit Cards. Sigh, we have lost one dining place, for us to gain 5 % weekend dining cashback from our Maybank 2 Card American Express.

Sadly I don't have other online cashback cards. PBB refused to give me their VS and other cash back cards only give 3% rebate for telco bills. Kinda troublesome just for the extra 2% and I ady have the maybank VS to cover for petrol & groceries.

Oh, I understand your situation. smile.gif PBB also refused to give me the most desired PB Visa Signature Card.

How about the following credit cards? Sorry, if you are already aware of the difficulties of using the following credit cards. sweat.gif

1. Hong Leong WISE Credit Card
- 5 % mobile cashback (paying through Maxis Pay), with mobile as the bonus category.
- Need to spend RM 2000 in a calendar month, with RM 1000 from your chosen categories.

2. UOB Yolo Credit Card
- 6 % online cashback (paying through UOB Payonline)
- Need to spend at least RM 800 in a calendar month, to qualify for 6 % online cashback.

You can request for recommendations in this thread, https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4161836.

Otherwise, we are talking out of topic here.

Funny that Morganfield's @ Publika does not accept AMEX. Doesn't their Pavilion and e@Curve outlet accept AMEX?

I 2nd this. Earlier, I thought this to be an issue with the Caltex branch near my house since I noticed that my payment kept failing with AMEX card. VISA/Master no issue.

Then I noticed that the AMEX logo is no longer included as part of payment method. Guy over the counter had no clue.

To top it off, looks like AMEX was dropped after they upgraded to PIN & PAY Terminal. And this goes to all Caltex nationwide as of now.

Thank you for your kind feedback. As mandated by Bank Negara Malaysia, we have enable the Automated Fuel Dispensers that allow you to purchase fuel securely by entering your 6-digit PIN. However, American Express (AMEX) is not able to provide this product enhancement at the moment. We will keep you inform about the AMEX acceptance on this site. As of now, you may enjoy Caltex with Techron® by using Visa or MasterCard.

We appreciate your support smile.gif

That was the feedback I got from Caltex at the Facebook page

Time to get active again with this thread. Used to contribute a lot for this thread. Can't believe we are back again with this question: "Do you accept AmEx?" laugh.gif

My favorite optical store in hometown accepts AmEx, just in time for me to get a new pair of specs. rclxms.gif
When he started accepting AmEx, so coincidentally Maybank removed the 5% cash back. sweat.gif

For optical store, I'll just go to Focus Point. I know they sure accept AMEX and Bonuslink.
You can even buy RM 50 voucher from 11street at discounted price (if you know how) and use it at Focus Point.
You can even redeem Bonuslink and TP on the spot at Focus Point.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, this optical shop is a family's friend and all our shades and glasses are 30%-40% cheaper than KL. biggrin.gif Not forgetting super good service as well, can service my stuff for free and fix for me. biggrin.gif Sometimes got 1-1 replacement too. biggrin.gif
