I don't think they are even medium sized firm.

Medium sized firm would be something like McMillan, Russell Bedfort, Baker Tilly and so forth.

If you have a degree or professional qualifications, try to go for Big 4 instead?

For me I think it would be better if you can go straight into Big 4. If you don't manage to get into big 4, try medium firms, work there for a year plus then try applying for big 4 again.

Audit is always easier to get la.

Tax usually very limited opening because they promote from within.

Tax punya peak is not as bad as Audit's permanent peak period laugh.gif

I applied and received a callback almost 2 days later.

Arranged for an interview within 1~2 weeks.

Just be a little patient, big companies are like that.

Tax experts are always in demand la....

Nothing to do with government since M'sia got about 138 tax codes to begin with.

A little audit experience would be helpful, but not entirely necessary.

Here's the catch. I don't even have a degree tongue.gif

GST is usually under indirect tax, while there's another division called corporate tax.

Depends on where you land actually.

Besides, if you major in accounting with a pretty decent averages, I'm sure there's a firm that's willing to hire.

Look around job street man.

Yes, I have near completion of ACCA.

And you missed the question, what's your major 1st?

And jobstreet is a platform to seek jobs. If you are not happy with the pay, don't apply for the job lol.

Sidenote : Big 4 ain't paying that much for fresh graduates as well. Esp when you are fresh from the field and have zero knowledge.

my major is accountancy....u r acca holder compare with degree holder...sure u will be a priority candidate...
i didnt expect any audit firm will pay me higher, even big 4 they had their standard rate fresh degree holder...if im not mistaken is around 2800 for degree and acca or other professional paper will higher abit....so u managed to get in to big 4?
how about the interview?

i also had apply some through jobstreet, but in the end i prefer apply directly through the company website rather than jobstreet, company will take few day to progress if u apply through jobstreet, if u direct apply through the company website will faster abit, this is what i feel during my job hunting life.

Firstly and foremost, some company directly advertise at Jobstreet in order to get more candidates to apply and filter.

I applied for my position in Big 4 from Jobstreet and I did get a callback within few days compared to directly applying to the website itself.

Degree holder is around 2,5 if I am not mistaken.

Brush up on your English, be more presentable and I'm sure you can get a job soon.

Good luck for your hunt then laugh.gif
