The blue, brown and red switch is the backlit colour, right?
*
nope, those are the different type of switches indicated by the colour.
btw, ducky zero doesn't have backlit led, the backlit led version is ducky zero shine but that's a bit over your budget already and comes with blue and orange backlit led if i'm not mistaken.

blue - tactile + clicky
brown - tactile only
red - linear

you may go to the first page to see the diagram of how the switch operates to have a better understanding.

Seems like many people are recommending this Ducky Keyboard. I think i will still go for those backlit ones, mechanical keyboard. So Ducky Zero Shine is the one to go I believe. Same quality like those Ducky Zero, right?
*
for that budget, ducky zero is the best bang for the buck.

Brown switch, oh gosh is it ok if i use my fingernails to pull the spacebar? sweat.gif
*
QUOTE(dadudeneverabides @ Jun 22 2015, 11:07 AM)
Make the paper clip puller and use that... don't use fingernail. You break your fingernail is ok can see doctor heal easily but break caps/stem then you GG.
*
don't use fingernails sweat.gif unless the keycaps is already very loose and you can use ur fingernail to lever up the keycaps without any force.

one of the ways i use to remove keycaps without keycap puller or makeshift puller from paper clip is by using 2 expired driving license card.
using one corner from both cards, place them on both sides of the keycaps deep enough.
use equal force on both cards to try and lever up the keycaps.
for spacebar, remove both Alt keys first and removing your spacebar will be a breeze.

Hi Guys!
My first post here  biggrin.gif
Since i stumbled into this thread, I would like to ask.

I have a blackwidow ultimate (i think bought somewhere in 2012 - don't remember)
There was once i was fixing my pc wiring and i think the extension cord flared up a bit (sparks)

After that the additional soundport extension on my keyboard stopped working since. sad.gif Not really a big deal as i have not used it since but was wondering if this could be fixed?  hmm.gif

Oh yeah, I'm also looking for another keyboard (more for office and my ps4 use) - wondering if there is a market for mechanical keyboards below RM 200?  sweat.gif Just want a cheap, portable set of keyboard to carry to the office.

Sorry for the noob questions.

Thank you!
*
sorry, no idea about the blackwidow soundport thingie but it sounds like the controller board for the soundport is fried?
tested on other usb port or other pc?

below RM200 will be difficult, unless it's a 2nd hand china brand mkb.

With the current RM vs USD, this is considered cheap for a custom aluminium keyboard.
Plus you also save on shipping if I am not mistaken.

Normally a full aluminium custom would cost you USD 450-550.

I bought my KMAC at USD400 and my LZ at USD500, both not including shipping.

My first MKB, a DS3 was basically lost during transit and I am still putting my hope on it.

Now I refer back to previous posts and seems like DS3 has many issues?
*
QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Jul 1 2015, 08:08 PM)
Any other MKB to recommend apart from Ducky? Cherry MX Blue with backlit.
*
oh no! how did it lost? ohmy.gif
i think DS3 has some led problems in the past.

blue switch with backlit are quite difficult to find hmm...

the other one that i can think of is ducky zero shine RM3xx range, or tenkeyless layout, CM Storm Rapid-i RM3xx range, or Deck hassium RM50x

others that i wouldn't want to recommend but suits your requirements, it would be;
corsair vengeance k70 (non-rgb) ~RM500,

hi krytone! biggrin.gif
i got my ssk from taobao, forgot how much i paid for it already, but i rmbr it was quite pricey (i think about RM400-500) as ssk is very difficult to find in taobao.

What about this keyboard? Probably the cheapest full size one around lul
*
personally i wouldn't get that or recommend that due to the following reasons:-
1) gaming layout, not compatible with standard or winkeyless layout keycaps.
2) using kailh switch.

Heavyarm has it. Kind of.

OHH i remember d!
that special edition keyboard with multi led and multi switch?
i remember they use that as a demo unit for ppl to test out different switch with that keyboard.

that was ducky shine 2 limited edition or some fancy pansy name wan.

but personally i don't quite like multi switch keyboard because i prefer having uniform switches across my board (although i said that, but my nerd keyboard are all using black switch except for caps lock and scroll lock, those 2 are using blue switch for the reason that it's a toggle function)

but its really up to you, i highly recommend that you go to heavy-arm and test it out yourself.
