Wait-wait...If more than 2nd hand..How much it cost, cuz I buy from him Rm350 with TaiHao Red/White Keycaps(except Keycap puller cuz its broken)
*
Doesn't affected the price even how many n-hands. No comments on the price.
Filco do not have keycap puller to begin with.
So, you have to purchase new keycap puller, so you can remove the keycaps and clean that keyboard.
I'm sure there are lots of hairs, dusts and "etc" in the keyboard. shocking.gif

Hey, I asked him about that mkb as well. I like the white colour case but a bit too steep on the price for me. sad.gif

That keyboard if new unit is cost more than RM 600 and it's very limited in stocks.
Probably cost more that that if you want to find it now. nod.gif

My Filco comes with a Keycap puller by default.
I guess maybe older batches of Filco do not have it.

Want white keyboard? Taobao may able to help...
Something like Keycool HERO 87 Keyboard.
Link here, http://s.taobao.com/search?spm=a230r.1.0.0...mbo_1_0_1076354

Only certain Filco like camo, linear-R and other limited edition do provide the keypuler.
For normal series, they do not provide the keypuller, to reduce the cost.

Buy from taobao can get next week. No idea why you still wanna buy from MD...

Probably, because people not familiar with taobao purchase.
MD provide item purchase to shipping, all-in-one service, which is easier for normal consumers.
Less hassle. laugh.gif

Not comparing bro. i wanted Deck/ Rosewill. Now all place out of stock. Lure here and find this, that's why asking...izit really goodingz?

let me rephrase it.

Goodingz in a sense. Keycap not easliy faded and become oily mark due to long period of usage.  I kinda like Rosewill built...it's tough and heavy...Ducky and CM storm trigger....really...not so tough...feeling when you are typing on it.
*
Then poker is ultra goodingz.
If you want to make comparison, poker is like ferrari, whereas Rosewill + Deck is just a soda can in your terms of goodingz.

This only applies on you because you have goodingz term..

Other people please ignore this post to avoid misleading.

You mean they'll replace you with a new QFR-i directly without waiting when you take your broken QFR-i to RMA?
My friend's QFR-i has some LED problem too. So, he's asking me LOL.
He bought the unit from HeavyArm @ SS15.
*
Guess your friend still need follow the escalation route, bring the broken CM keyboard back to retailer (HeavyArm).
Then wait retailer send back to distributer for exchange.

Unless HeavyArm willing to exchange on-the-spot, then will be different case without waiting time.

Hope the explanation clears your thoughts...

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Apr 23 2015, 08:12 PM)
Good day, guys.
I'm wondering why Filco is so highly (if not best) regarded compare to other keyboard brands.
Considering their price and features, are they kind of overprice? I've read about how people rave about their build and quality, how different it feels when it compare to other keyboards with the same switch. (I'm definitely not comparing it to Razer here) While there are other similarly or lower priced keyboard brands out there like Ducky and CM Storm. I bet their quality are pretty much similar or maybe Filco is slightly better. However, everyone (yes, ALMOST EVERYONE) seems to prefer Filco. I've also read about the stabilizers where people pick Filco for its costar stabilizers but this cannot be the only reason right? Besides, there are also other keyboard with Costar Stabilizers. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting the reputation nor the the quality or trying to insult Filco or its fan. And, please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm here to ask for opinions not arguments. My apologies if my words are

No sarcasm as well, I'm just curious about how each keyboard brands differs between each other when it comes to typing experience. Now, I'm deciding between Ducky Zero or Rosewill RK-9000 (with brown switch) as my second mechanical keyboard for work. I wonder if I should top up more for a Filco.
I'm currently using a Ducky Shine 3 with blue switch, besides dead LED, I'm kinda happy with it. You know right, after you start using mechanical keyboard, membrane keyboard like...  sweat.gif
Have anyone brought their mechanical keyboard to work? I cannot be the only one who think about doing it.

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions and opinions on my purchase. Appreciate if anyone could point me to the right direction and explain why Filco is preferred by so many people out there.
I don't wanna spend too much as it is only for work and I don't need no fancy or gimmicky features. I just need a good keyboard to get me through a busy day.
Thanks in advance.
*
Refer to my siggy, and you will see Ducky, CM and Filco are all inside the list.
Well, according to unwritten rules here.. We buy, we try and we speak. smile.gif

Filco is the best among all. Ya, Ducky is also a great keyboard as well as CM.
Mainly because the typing feel is the best, the consistency of actuations, actuation feel when it hits bottoms, sounds. laugh.gif
As simple as that.

The costar stab is good, nice to press on. There is another reason why I like costar, because I can mount warped spacebar keycaps on the stab and it looks balanced. thumbup.gif

Back to your queries.. You should top up for Filco.

P/S: My daily driver is Filco (>80hours of typing per week)

Yea, i just watched a video of someone reviewing the keyboard. First time i found out that there's variable weight in a keyboard. More keyboard science to learn. tongue.gif

Still, I don't really understand why he chose to use a keyboard with variable weights for gaming. Consistency is one of the highest requirement imo,for gaming.
*
If he just always use QWER, I don't see anything wrong with that as QWER keystrokes are 30g. It's consistent.
30g is good for multi-tap, and most ANSI layout do not have uniform 30g choice.

Note: 30g commonly available in JIS (Japanese layout, not ANSI).

Yup. For plate-mount like Ducky board, you need to desolder the switch then only can open the housing.

By the way,I would be using this keyboard more often in typing and programming.

What programming? Will you always use arrow keys?
Highly recommended tactile switches for typing. smile.gif
