Oud Saphir is a more fruity kind of leather scent rather than an oud centered itself.

I would recommended smelling Atelier's Emeraude Agar for a more Oud-centered fragrance.

In AC's DNA, some of them do lasts long but their sillage would be moderate as compared to TF's beast mode.
*
Thx for the feedback bro. I also found that AC cologne has a decent longevity. Safer and not offensive. Looking at the Emeraulde Agar note breakdown, is this more oriental? Rose oud and sandalwood combo.

I would say Oud Wood is more reserved. It's a pleasant scent but i find it to be a tad too quiet?

Oud Wood Intense is very "I am here, you will notice me" kind of vibe. Slight animalic but that wouldn't alter its scent much unless you over spray. One major differences = it smells nothing like Oud Wood.

OW = spam all u can (max 6?).
OWI = thread carefully, 2 spray tops.

With that being said, I finally understand why OW is a bestseller among all PB. OW is actually more reserved and a public-pleaser when compared to other PB which has more of a raw facet to its notes.
*
agree with u. Smell nothing like Oud wood. At first i thought, this gonna be the intense version of OW. Tried it, and then said to myself, maybe i got problem with my nose. Couldnt get any similarity between those 2. OW definitely easier to wear.

Thanks for your input. I don’t know how clary sage smells like, but i get a lot of sweet tonka in the opening. I did get that plasticky vibe which I believe its a combination of bitter almond+leather/suade, and I interpreted it as a synthetic leather smell. Agreed on the pricing and luckily i got it from Selfridges through my friend there, saved almost 400 and got the uncensored one.

I 100% agree with you on the differences between OW and OWI. Completely 2 different frags. To me, OWI goes similar direction as Oud Palao/Oud Ispahan, while OW is a less challenging, wearable oud frags out there.

Anyone here knows where to get Andy Tauer L'air Du Desert Marocain? Or anyone selling decant of this frag? Addicted to try more Amber frags.
*
Same here bro. looking for that, or his brother au Coeur du desert .But still cannot find . last time they used to ship their discovery set to here.

At the same time, I've tried Venetian Bergamot on myself and took a sample of Tobacco Vanille + Noir Extreme.

Gonna give AA a full wearing soon and test out its highly coveted beast mode.

Let us know your take on the AA later bro.

I don't know bro. Never had experience buying from them before but I've read in this forum someone had bought from them before and vouched that it's authentic.
Yes. Saw they posted about their discovery set which come in two sets. I commented on their IG if the sets are available for Malaysian market and how much but they didn't respond.
*
You can try reaching their FB page. The sample set priced at rm70 each.

If not mistaken, izam7 had experienced with Rirana, maybe he can share with us.

I think they are the only local Niche brand that has expanded their business to overseas. Really wanna know the nose behind their frags, since quite number of westerners already reviewed their line, including Cubaknow.

province86 kindly share your thought on FM Musc Ravageur bro. Is it good?
*

locozz03 Musc Ravegeur, for me very musculine, spicy musky to be exact. Slightly animalic during the opening. But the dry down is fantastic. Performs above average on my skin. 10hr+ Not for casual and Not a safe frag. But u guys own more challenging frag, this is quite safe for u i guess. haha cool2.gif

Hi guys, where can I get good deal for Blue de Chanel?
*
A bit hard to find Brand new Chanel with discounted price. They have a strict distributorship and the price are about the same nationwide including duty free shop at the airport. RM500 for Parfum, RM433 for EDP and maybe around RM380 for the EDT. Normally for Chanel, i will just buy retail.

Eh can't say like that, need to sample first. biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif Anyway, looks like you are decanting Habdan too, and I found the notes are quite interesting (myrhh+olibanum=wow). Mind sharing how this beast smells like bro? Interested to try....
*
Habdan, i got incensy caramelized apple, probably from the myrrh. Doesnt project loudly, but has a very good longevity. Quite special and underrated from the house. The overrated from the house, is Layton. I like it, but nothing spectacular. But most people might disagree with me. Haha

QUOTE(locozz03 @ Mar 28 2019, 04:58 PM)
Received my Oajan and Carlisle sample vial earlier today. First impression:-

Carlisle - Agreed with you, the opening was a reminiscent of Herod+Layton, and to my amateur nose I get more Layton than Herod, which I really love. The drydown is very beautiful, but a little bit boring since it reminds me of YSL LNDL with vanilla added to it (not the same though, but it has LNDL vibe). Full bottle worthy? To me, I need to give more wearing time before decided to purchase. I already have both Herod and Layton, so this one can wait.

Oajan - The opening is a bit piercing and sweet. I get sweet honey+sweet Tonka, then benzoin slowly came to the surface after a while. Do I like it....too early to say. Definitely need more wearing time in order to judge it worthiness.

Too bad, can't find Layton Ex sample to test out, since it was being hyped too. province86 Share with us your thought on Layton Ex when it's in your possession.
*
I love carlisle because it has more smoky vibe. I got smoky, like tobacco note but the note not listed in the note breakdown. i understand why it reminds you of LDNL, maybe because of the cardamon. Curently still looking for good offer for Layton Ex. The price is cheaper than carlisle, but has higher price /ml. But i will definitely share my take on that. Too bad, Fragrance Du Bois stop bringing this brand to Malaysia, If not, we can always try them first.

You can check the full/detail review on Fragrantica and Basenotes.

The kit is from their 4th collection.
I miss the 1st and 2nd.
For the 3rd & 4th collection, I managed to get the discovery kit before sold out after few days.
I even bought 9ml atomizer each from 3rd collection (cost around 60-80usd only compared to 300-400usd for 50ml)
Unfortunately there is still no small atomizer yet from 4th collection.

In principal, it's a line we shall try out in order to enhance our nose in perfumery world.
Their quality is top notch due to the natural ingredients been used.
It's definitely above luxury/niche line (artisanal).
Another artisanal line that you should try is Bortnikoff (he is co-owner of Feel Oud with Adam (perfumer areej)- The 2nd and 3rd collection discovery kit still available.

tq bro izam7 for the information. My friend gave me the discovery kit from their 4th collection, and i really adore Malik Al Taif. The rose note in this frag is stunning. I agree with u about the quality of this. And for the Bortnikoff, i heard about the house, but i didnt have any chance to try them yet.

QUOTE(locozz03 @ Apr 11 2019, 11:23 PM)
My new haul, acquired recently.

1) LV Ombre Nomade (Blind Bought this after saw bro chiahau hype about it, and by looking at the notes in Fragr*nt*ca. Love this stuff so much)

[attachmentid=10225164]

2) MFK Grand Soir (Been sampling it for quite sometimes, and finally decided to get a full bottle)

[attachmentid=10225165]

3) Chanel AHEB (Been sampling this for sometime too, good addition to my existing AHSEE and definitely be part of my daily office scent rotation)

[attachmentid=10225166]

LV Ombre Nomade - I blind bought this not because of the brand name, but due to the quality of the juice and of cause the smell. Ask the SA to spray on my skin and it is a love at the first sniff. Gorgeous opening I would say. I can tell that the Oud oil used in this juice is top notch and blended very well. Oud done in perfection, where you don't get that skunky and pungency of the natural pure oud oil, resulting a pleasent, smooth and elegent oud fragrance. I got that incensy and sweet benzoin in the opening too which I believe tamped down and rounded off the oud. After a while, I got a sweet and beautiful raspberry, similar to what I got from TF Tuscan Leather, and surprisingly I smelled a hint of leather too. I don't find leather listed as one of the note, but I'm pretty sure there is a leather note in here. Or maybe it is just my brain interpretation of a well blended saffron+oud+birch....I'm not sure. The dry down was something to die for, a sweet floral with a hint of oud and leather scents were reminiscent of TF Tuscan Leather, and Tuscan Leather being one of the frag that I love and appreciate the most. Performance is superb, it projects well around 2-3 hours and longevity easily hit 8 hours on my skin, but I can still smell it the next morning on my shirt. 2 cents
*
Tq for sharing your take on Ombre Nomade. Great haul bro. Definitely will try this Ombre Nomade in future.

Can't resist that creamy gardenia and ylang-ylang while bergamot lingers in the background.

Perfect for our weather tbh
