Finally can take a break from the unOfficial old thread full of hate and bash hahaha .... Question, game will have region lock meh? I though USA player can splatoon Japanese player in multiplayer?
game has no region lock, but not sure about the servers probably will be the same like other consoles, ie: if you're using US account, then you'll be playing on US servers with mostly US players
cross server MP battles tends to end up in tears & frustrations, pings tends to be pretty high when playing with players on the other side of earth

Going to down under in June, was planning maybe grabbing one there but upon seeing their price after conversion, aiks! we are not the only one suffering from expensive switch console + zelda + 1,2switch also similar price like here
but~! if I can claim their 10% GST tax return at airport, it's slightly cheaper, around RM2000
beware of this game shop, they will not honor the pre-order price if the price sudden increase by maxsoft most of us already got burn by them during the nintendo classic mini pre-order
already in my blacklisted game shop, even if they're selling cheapest in M'sia, I still won't buy from them.

u mean they suddenly increase the price even done full payment and waiting for the nintendo classic mini pre-order?
yup
not to mention they also involved in another console fiasco recently, the PS4Pro pre-order till now, they are still unable to deliver even a single unit to those who pre-oredered, while other stores can get at least a few units
so, my advice? stay far far away from them

I think Nintendo should just stop produce the grey switch, almost everyone wanted the neon switch. Just came back frm down under, neon set preorder were all sold out! Left the greys only, just like here

Maxsoft SG/MY warranty is only one year right?
Found out Ninty HK is giving 2 years warranty, with one to one swapping for faulty units at their HK HQ during this launch period
Probably will get a HK set since I'll be there next month, if anything wrong during the first few days while I was there, can just drop by their HQ for replacement. HK official sets selling at HKD2340, that's around RM1300, and there's no forced bundle like Maxsoft

Hi all, I checked the thread to see if this has been asked before but found vague/unclear answers.
My questions would be:
1) If I'm travelling to Japan and getting a Switch there, will I be able to change the system language from JP to EN? 2) I suppose it comes with a 2-pin power plug, if so, should I use it with an adapter? Or should I get a local (MY) power plug for the Switch instead? 3) Will I get taxed when I bring the console back?
Your help is much appreciated. Thank you!
1) yes 2) 2-pin Jap socket type, but Jap is using 110V by default, but the adapter could be 240-110 volt, check when you buy, if yes then no need local 3) if whole box intact brand new, sure kena tax. To avoid, unbox and keep the switch with you as hand carry, box throw away or just flatten it
