I am very shocked by the ticket price in TGV.
They charge different price based on seating location.

standard seat RM14
preferred seat RM16
couple seat RM36 (RM18/person)
beanie seat RM36 (don't know for 1 or 2 person)

For the record, GSC charge RM13 flat rate wherever u seat.
their couple seat price is RM32 (RM16/person)
GSC totally pownes TGV in terms of pricing.

To add insult to the injury, TGV standard seat is only the first THREE rows. WTH?!

like that still got people wana go TGV? what do you think?
anything super special about TGV that makes it worth the money over GSC?

I have already banned TGV long time already.

Last time they SELL YOU 3D Glasses (Force you to BUY the 3D glasses everytime you watch), now i am not sure.

Anyway, GSC is the way to go. To hell with TGV.

So far TGV is OK for me.

1) Near my house.. walking distance.
2) Using student card.
3) Movie club members can redeem 2 ticket free (Included couple seat) + Freebies (1 regular popcorn + 1 regular drink)

Compare to GSC

1) Far from my house so need driving (petrol money gone)
2) Parking money gone....
3) Gsc member only free 1 ticket without freebies....

different cinema, and different movie (depending on the date), will have different price.

for my comparison i compare tropicanal mall gsc and jaya shopping mall tgv for the the movie chappie
both mall close to each other, so it seems a fair comparison

Way faster movie releases than GSC, most blockbuster movies comes out 1 weeks later at GSC or MBO. Basically if you join TGV movie club, then its not that bad la, if you want faster releases.

Hey, PROFESSIONAL.. Have u read the reply??? People already clarified that the ticket will included the 3D glasses... they didn't FORCE to buy like what u stated..... FORCE is means that they didn't included the price in the ticket but ask u to pay extra.... Since they have stated early and if u still wanna go watch that's your problem... i don't think is TGV problem... they have their own rules....

Get any cimb debit or credit card. Then purchase ticket from gsc website, use the card to pay. Then automatically all tickets become rm10/each. Applicable on weekends too biggrin.gif

I only go to TGV when I can get discounted rate, from Credit Card or before 12PM promo etc.
Also few times get free ticket from LINE app rclxms.gif

Have to say, other than price, almost everything else of TGV is better than GSC.
Better seat, better screen (well this also depends how often they change the bulb), better sound quality, tastier pop corn too tongue.gif

GSC seats if I sit more than 1 hour I feel very uncomfortable already, TGV ones seem more ergonomic.

However, by buying standard seat even on the highest row, you have to 'look up' which tires your neck.

Above experience is based on TGV and GSC cinemas in Penang only biggrin.gif

Hey, PROFESSIONAL.. Have u read the reply??? People already clarified that the ticket will included the 3D glasses... they didn't FORCE to buy like what u stated..... FORCE is means that they didn't included the price in the ticket but ask u to pay extra.... Since they have stated early and if u still wanna go watch that's your problem... i don't think is TGV problem... they have their own rules....
*
Yeah right...like it's OPTIONAL. Like paying RM25 per ticket is INCLUDED AND NOT ASK TO PAY EXTRA. You maths failed and your maths teacher is very dissapointed in you.

I think thats also why TGV in mines slightly cheaper if not mistaken, rm14 or 15 per ticket right, but seriously, it doesn't provide the expereince like other TGV's....but imho MBO recently becoming quite good too in terms of comfort. GSC, unless its signature...most gsc memang kurang comfort lerr...

TVG always does that

I remember when Despicable Me 2 comes out, the release a week or two earlier, but only for 3 days, then they stop showing it until the real release date

Certain movies are best watched on the big screen imo. So for me still OK to go watch about 2-3 movies per month.

And not sure if its just me but notice there are less people in the cinemas nowadays.

TGV for me win coz:

1. In front my house
2. RM7/RM9 for Movie before 12.00pm
3. If use my Maybank Paywave, RM10 for movie after 12.00pm

But GSC got more movie that they show. I think last time they show the new Gundam movie which was not show at other cinema.

Either way, just go to the cinema near you

LOL 6TB sound big eh? hmm.gif
any way.. TGV IMAX (sunway or ou) vs GSC MAXX(ioi city mall)

Quality TGV IMAX
Screen TGV IMAX(duno y even GSC claim their is biggest)
Sound TGV IMAX (duno y GSC sound abit dull maybe the movie its self)
Seat arrangement same
Theater itself i duno y da heck carpet infront of scren at GSC MAXX is red in color... for sure will reflect abit the screen projectory..
Price GSC MAXX the real value is Dolby Atmos

Unless went with fren or really my favorite movie only see IMAX or MAXX
other than that better wait and watch using my own PJ...

I'm GSC loyal customer, actually GSC do have the same problem as well.
their price charges according location

eg. student price/wed price: GSC paradigm RM8 while GSC mid valley RM10

normal flat rate RM16 in mid valley (due to current renovation used to RM15) GSC paradigm around RM13, last time was new movie are more expensive after 2 week will be cheaper but now not anymore no matter just release or after how many week just flat rate charges.

What matters is that you still get to watch it sooner, IMHO GSC and MBO shud start doing that then can really kill off tgv biznez

I used to love GSC, until the new TGV opened with IMAX and far superior cinema sound system and better seats.

Not to mention their popcorn royale is gooding yo..
and also 10% cash rebate with Movie Club on F&B and movie tickets, you can redeem back to buy movie tickets.

No GSC for me ever since.

Nope

Different tgv. Different case

Like in 1shamelin.its the first 5 row

The strand also first 5 row

Which is not bad. Abit below middle point

And if u watch before 12pm.anyday,

Those 5 first row is only rm8

So tgv win

The end

Owh and gsc is not flat rate rm13

I was about to watch jurassic world a couple month ago

At alamanda

And the price is rm18

Before entertainment tax shit that tgv dont have

I've went to MBO a few times, not very comfy like TGV and GSC.

And you have to pay for the discount card
*
MBO seats are not very comfortable.. IMO.. also when a person sits in front of you, he/she will block your view partially because the angle of the seats are not so inclined as the seats at GSC / TGV

The ticketing price at TGV IS absurd!! Just took a look at Jungle Book tickets and it is priced at RM19 just for standard seats!

Prefer TGV. GSC seat problem, dirty, video quality poor and inconsiderate crowd. Inconsiderate crowds are everywhere but it's even more prevalent in GSC.

TGV is still reasonable IMO. It's nearer to my house (at Aeon Bukit Tinggi, I live in Taman Sentosa) compared to GSC (at Klang Parade). Also have I mentioned that the popcorn pack has more value?

I go tgv only for one cinema. That's IMAX nothing beats the awesomeness of IMAX screen and sound.

Atmos is close but still IMAX is a big big difference.

Yang lain cinema I tak peduli. I'd I wanna watch I love you you love me. I watch at home.

GSC better prices, app online buying is much easier.

TGV better sound quality, better seat and cleaner.

It depends actually. But I mostly go for GSC.
