Feel like my time with my D90 is coming to an end.

Thinking of getting on the FF train since I have the 70-200, 50 1.8 and *hopefully soon to own* 24-70 2.8. Does D750 seem a good choice? hmm.gif

D750 received very good review for being the affordable FX DSLR so I would say it is a good choice thumbup.gif

Will head out to my local camera shop this weekend to survey the price first smile.gif

Guys, would like to ask regarding unfilled warranty.
This warranty consider local or SG?

would it still valid if we plan to claim it later?

theres someone selling d750 in garage. plan to get the body and i want to know you guys honest opinion first.

THANKS!  tongue.gif

you buy the D750, do you have additions funds to get a lens or available lens?

If not, just get the D610, it's already good as it is. Unless you don't mind getting the D750 and spending a bit more on getting a lens.

P.S D750 body only price now around 5.8K, bought a D750 a 2-3 months back.

That's the problem, i do not have FX lenses and my budget quite tight to fund for lenses.

and the lense and free 50mm on D610 are quite attractive to me
*
Then get the D610 kit. If it comes with the free 50, it's a good deal already.

QUOTE(IceFlame21 @ Oct 31 2015, 07:53 PM)
Hi guys, is the Nikon d5300 a good beginner's DSLR?
I'm looking to landscape, macro and especially low light + night photography.
*
Any body can do what you want to shoot, problem is the lens tongue.gif

It's a good body if you're just into the hobby but if you gave us a budget, probably we can suggest something more suitable for you and also lenses to buy.

Right. My budget less than 3k only. I think with that budget only can get a normal zooming lens?  hmm.gif
*
D5300 body alone is around 2.4K already, with the kit lens 18-55 it's around 2.7K.
but if you take the 18-140, it's gonna be perfect 3K.

Up to you to decide, the 18-140 doesn't seem viable for you (yet) since you're shooting landscape, macro and night photography. Might want to spend some extra money from the 18-55 kit lens and get a those landscape filter sets/tripod or save up the money for a macro lens

But I have heard numerous news about the 18-55 kit problem about it's AF motor after a while of usage (but take it with a grain of salt)

What lens you matching it with?

anyone using tamron 24-70? want get this lens for my D750. no budget for nikon. where can get cheapest price?
*
Tested it already, dunno how to say but I can't get the feeling well with tamron lens... doesnt feel right
optimal performance is okay

but i opted for the Nikon 28-70 2.8, albeit heavier than the plastic version of the 24-70, optical performance is more or less on par.

where is D400?

They kinda skipped the 4 for their models i think. (minus the D4, that's their flagship series)

Same case for D5500, probably would do the same for D3500 also.

D500 is pretty much like the D750, just that it's DX with more AF point, faster burst and 4K video. What else did I miss? ISO? biggrin.gif
*
I kinda wished they did the same body design as the D500 (mode dials especially) on the D750 though, and the round eye piece cry.gif *rant* laugh.gif
Still happy i bought it though

It's basically a mini D5 with some specs downgraded a bit lol

I wonder how many units can Nikon sells with the D500, people had been asking for the camera such a long time. Now it's out but who's going to buy it?

hmm.gif
*
Sports and nature pros for sure, others will probably look at D610/D750 for normal usage. Doesn't really justifying the high price if you're not gonna use the pro features.

Though i'm sure those who are ready to throw the money know the camera's potential

guys,

sad story time

> was using 28-70 2.8 (old heavy lens) for sunset shoot at the coastline
> found a spot for my shoot and set up my camera on a tripod
> moved the tripod a bit
> tripod head wasn't secured as i thought it was
> camera moved down and len hit the rock
> tried zooming
> zoom mechanism stuck between 35 and 70, can't zoom out to 28
> heard a crack (this is bad)
> lens won't focus
> sent to Nikon Penang for check up
> quoted price for fixing is RM2.8K (replacing the whole AF system)

No, i didn't put the hood on.
To me, it didn't really felt like a heavy impact on the lens, no dent or anything.

For now, i am missing my mid range zoom and will be a bit hard covering weddings with only a 50 1.8/1.4 and 70-200

QUOTE(wyh @ Feb 8 2016, 01:47 AM)
Tokina(11-16) vs Sigma(10-20) vs Tamron(10-24), which is your pick for DX body D7100 ?
*
Definitely Tokina

Used it before on my previous D90, i'd say it's one the best among the 3, even comparable to Nikon lens.

am having n issue with d3100 where on the screens it show

LENS NOT ATTACHED except in manual mode...looking for a solution here...

i just got the camera
*
Mind telling us what lens are you using?

BTW, it's possible that the contact between the lens and your camera body is not properly aligned or is dirty,

I had a case with my friend's Canon 70D, she was using a 50 1.8 lens and everytime the shutter is pressed, the error info comes out. Just did some cleaning on the contact pin and it's all good again.

any helps on that? notworthy.gif

QUOTE(goldfries @ Feb 10 2016, 11:33 PM)
Remove lens, wipe the contact points on both lens and camera body.

Try other lens to see if the error occurs.

Worse case - bring to Nikon for fixing.

gg  shocking.gif

for that amount of money you can get another 28-70 tongue.gif

EDIT: By the way anyone knows the value of 28mm f2.8D?
*
Yep and leaving me with no choice but to get a new one, unless the sigma 24-35 1.4 can convince me.

Saw a used one on KLDSLR, RM750. New one from Shashinki is around RM1K
