weight factor?
specs for 17-50mm say around 430gms...thats quite light still...
the 11-16 is much heavier at 550gms.
*
Mine is the one with VC so should be 570g so it's more or less same with the Tokina laugh.gif but 11mm and 17mm is much different and I don't really use anything above 17mm on the Tamron as I have the 35mm f1.8 smile.gif

thinking of selling my d5100 w/ 17k shutter count as for this photo, how much I can sell it?
I need your opinion notworthy.gif
*
AFAIK, D5100 is kinda cheap nowadays...around RM 800+- for used body, so I think that's a good price to start smile.gif

Quite a significant difference

As far as I know, the main diff is 1 FPS more, WiFi and NFC, higher native ISO...the AF motor is the same isn't it?

I would suggest the D5*** series because of the flippy screen and WiFi, convenient for casual shooting smile.gif

Currently owning a 18mm-55mm kit lens with Nikon D5300 and wanted to buy a new zoom lens. Now having dilemma between Tamron 18mm-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC and AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200MM F/4-5.6G ED VR II. Tamron is giving a convenience since no need change lens frequently and Nikon will have a better quality image.
*
I've owned the newer Nikkor DX 55-300mm and I have to say that it is a really slow lens, not too sure if the same would apply to the 55-200mm or not.

But again it depends on how's your shooting style, having a longer reach might not be useful if you're shooting mostly scenery smile.gif

You mind elaborating more about your shooting style/genre?

Hi sifus, need advice whether to choose nikon 35mm 1.8g or Sigma 30mm f/1.4 ART DC HSM?
i'm using d5k

thanks
*
Both lenses have a much different pricing sweat.gif I would suggest to see what you budget is smile.gif

The 35mm f/1.8g is an affordable lens that most users will get due to it's big aperture and low cost (I personally owns 1 smile.gif)

The Sigma 30mm is expensive if you buy a new one, but you may get lucky and find an used for around RM 800+- smile.gif

Guys. Went by Harvey Norman today and was introduced to Nikon J5 mirrorless.
Anyone have experience with this camera ?
I am a total newbie with zero photography experience and the salesman recommend me this model.
I have a question though. If both picture are taken between a Samsung Note 7 phone and this device, will there be a huge difference in quality ?
*
Nikon J5 is the mirrorless series of camera from Nikon, they are alright for casual use during travel smile.gif its kinda like a digital camera that you can change lens laugh.gif but the lenses aren't cheap cry.gif

When comparing the phone camera to real camera is like comparing apple to orange, different thing altogether smile.gif at the end of the day it boils down to what is your usage.

If you're not planning to go into photography deeply and you're looking to change a phone too, then the Note7 smile.gif

If changing phone is not your main reason then go for the camera smile.gif

If you have a decent camera on your phone now, don't bother buying either one...

Because if you shoot the photo and planning to just upload to instagra/facebook, then you won't be able to tell the quality difference between the Note 7 and J5 smile.gif

Just my personal opinion and please don't feel that I am dissing you because I am not smile.gif

What kind of photography are you looking at? If you are just looking at the final output being normal Facebook/Instagram pictures with minimal to no post editing, your smartphone is actually good enough.
But if you are very fussy about the quality, willing to do post processing and like to view in big prints, a proper mirrorless/DSLR will always be a better choice.
*
+1 to you bro, exactly what I was thinking as well laugh.gif

Anyone knows how to check the expiring date of the warranty except by looking at the card or receipt/going to Nikon centre?

I brought as hand carry before on my flight to Taipei via AirAsia, I don't think there's reason for them to reject isn't it?
