Spectra 5 ex-owner here as well. I have tested the 1.3 Saga before when I was surveying for a car at that time (1.6 not available yet). Easy decision, can forget about the Saga in term of almost all aspects, except the price which was much cheaper.

The S5 is really a good car to drive around. Solid chasis and suspension. Similar to the owner above, the only part broke down during my 5 years ownership was the injection coil, which was changed for about RM200 at Naza Kia service center. Ohter than that, only normal 10k maintenance. FC is similar to the other 1.6 NA C-segment cars.

Kia parts are very easy to get nowadays. I broken the interior door handle of my S5 previously, and they can get it the next day. Just imagine, broken handle is not something you change everyday, and yet they have the part ready, some more it's made in Korea and cost me less than RM100.

For those who said that Korean cars are lousy, bad fuel consumption, difficult to get parts, etc., I bet that they have either never driven a Korean car, or a Korean model 10 years ago when the brand was just started to produce their own car with their own engineering, not a rebadge like some others.

So my advise is, yes, go for the S5 if it's still in good condition, properly maintained and come with all the service records. Since you are considering a second hand car, the resell value is not something you need to consider. Ya, talking about the resell value, I lost about RM35k after driving it for 5 years. How much will a C-segment car from other brands loose after 5 years? Don't tell me it's only RM20k. Very likely it's much more than RM35K even for the Japanese brands wink.gif
