AX Limit is a Tanabe product if not mistaken. It's actually called Tanabe AX Limit.

if u wan for more good in pick up u can change ur xtractor to 4-2-1. if u wan to high end then u gonna use 4-1 xtractor. 4-2-1 will gv u slightly good response on pick up.

a boring answer tongue.gif

u don't just simply change the factory extractor. the most important thing to be considered is how well the extractor is tuned.

i have seen many cap ayam 4-2-1 or 4-1 or whatever config it was... but they're not custom tuned for performance. a lot of them are no more than replicating stock headers, or in other mean... they're just no more than factory replacement.

by the way.... I believe his B16A auto came stock with 4-2-1 type.

While we are on the topic of extractors, may I ask what a length-tuned extractor means? Contemplating changing mine, but I've got several definitions of "length-tuned" since I began asking. Are stock extractors length tuned?

BTW, Bro soulfly, do you recommend a change of extractor after, say, 10 years of use? Kinda worried about deposit build-up.

P.S: If you think this question should be moved to the 'Basic Intake and Exhaust Modification Guide', please do proceed OR let me know tongue.gif

"length-tuned" is sometimes overused in advertisements.

actually it should be "length-tuned to a certain specifications".

u can keep the extractor but change the catalytic converter. there is no need to change any part of the exhaust if it's still in good condition (no rust/leaks)

But how about carbon deposits?
A few days back, I was cleaning my carb (using a can of carb cleaner) & while cleaning I caught sight of a 2 cubic-CM (...roughly, I didn't take precise measurements doh.gif ) chunk of what I believe was carbon deposit flying out of my exhaust pipe. I'm unsure of it's origin, but my 1st guess was the muffler.

How thick can these carbon deposits be? To the extent of narrowing the exhause passage? Any experiences?

ah darn.... didn't realize that u're on carb. they don't have cat converter right?

probably it came from the muffler. i don't carbon deposit will really clog extractor though, because that section is very hot.... intake probably yes.

Geez... I thought carbon hardens under heat? unsure.gif
You mean I can't get that much of deposit even if my carb has been detuned (TOO lean) for a very long time?
Intake seems fine. I'll need to get rid of my muffler though, I think this might be the main culptit tongue.gif

the only main reason you need to change the extractor is if it has gotten cracked. anything else is up to you.

im bored so i wanna put my 2cents worth biggrin.gif

take note that VTEC extractors are one of the most efficient stock extractors around... not many extractors will give u an improvement over them.

extractors are seriously tricky business. some extractors can actually give a decrease in bhp figures compared to stock.

if ur ever thinking of changing ur extractor with the hopes of performance gains, then u should always...ALWAYS look into REPUTABLE brands and models. but of course which setup will depend on what ur aiming for.

unless of course if like what soulfly said then hentam saja laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa biggrin.gif
