Hm.. i thought those early birds got early access ? Usually when the transaction is completed before the cd is shipped out, you're given the early access cd-key.

Early access code through my understanding is distributed out to those who preordered it earlier on.
Like JPN versions, they do indicate that whether the copy u buy comes bundled with early access code or not.
Usually indicated as Early Preorder bundle bonus.
However, it wont be distributed out immediately to those who "preordered" the physical copy. Because money has not been deducted from either your credit-card/debit-card . Only when they deducted money from your bank-acc, they'll distribute the early access code to you via your email.
For digital copy, i'm not too sure since i've not purchased one before. Though if they did deduct money from your valid bank acc, they'll distribute the early access code to you directly.
Same case goes for Malaysia Retailers. If they acquire these early preorder copies, they should have early access code with them. It's just the matter of did the retailer's supplier settled the amount with SE directly.

It's like your regular online purchase from lelong/lowyat. Someone ordered something from you, would you be silly enough to send the item to him before he make payment ? If he cancel order halfway when the parcel is on it's way to his doorstep, how ?
Retailers are not suppose to be without early access code. Ask them to double check with their supplier. It should be distributed to them in the month of end may or early june via emails.

Yes i pointed out that it really depends on how our local retailers deal with the actual supplier who is directly/indirect suppliers/distributors for SE.
However it doesnt worked that way. Maybe it worked for you but for my side it didnt quite work out like what you said about the cancelling of preorders after you got your early preorder bonus code.

Yes, i bought games from amazon japan before and they pretty much worked that way for me. I even bought from other japan online stores . They'll only release preorder codes once they receive my payment.
My credit card balance currently do not have any amount charged under amazon japan even though i preordered heavenward on March.

Early access code as what it's hinted. For early access to the new content before official date. It's distributed through your email that you made purchased from through your registered email account. Like during 2.0, i received my early access code through my email from the online japan retailer i bought from. It's 2 weeks before official start of the server. The physical copy arrived seating on my desk after 2 days later from official date.

Every copy of early preordered heavensward should have early access code. I remember that it was distributed by SE themselves and forwarded to me from the online store through email first . The physical copy came along with the same early access code written on the pamphlet as what you described later.

Same code la. Just they give me the early access code in advance before the official launch. This was sent to them by Square Enix. I guess as what you say, different retailers have different practice.
Because as what you describe, it doesnt seems to apply in how i regular shop in amazon japan. Same goes for other japan retailers which i have dealt before with.
I just checked amazon japan, they had refilled preorders for PC - collector edition heavensward.
This time 1k yen expensive only. I bought that time is 14k ++ The one currently sold is 15kyen ++.

I think many people complained about the terrible resold price of amazon japan selling heavensward which made them refilled their supplies with much more reasonable price. I remember one of the comments warn readers not to buy it because their japan local retailer is selling much more cheaper then the online price.

There's only 3 regions available.
JPN , NA and EU.

As long as the site stated that it's a EU copy, it'll be under EU region.
The difference between in these 3 region is the available payment method.
3 regions has different payment method especially JPN.

What CE region u speaking of ? JPN/EU or NA ?
They are almost RM600-700 or more to get it delieved to Malaysia.
JPN i got it from amazon japan with the help of a parcel forwarding company.
NA from qishan preorders as far as i know it was like one or two months ago.
EU noone had any ideas how to get it in. Many local retailers refused to bring in because of the high shipping cost .

If you really wanted EU Physical CE copy, i guess it's not the best time to buy it before release.
Get it after. Or if you have any friends who's living around EU regions, try to get them to help you buy it and ship it.
It should be much more cheaper then getting local retailers to help you bring it.
Local retailers are definitely going to be 3rd to 5th party*worse*.
The manufacturers going to sell it to a distributor under a cheaper price where they'll mark it up to a percentage depending on region. Distributor will sell it to either our local retailer with a marked up price + shipping fee or to a second distributor which will later be sold to a local retailer.

SE sells to -> EU Distributor sells to -> Asia regional Distributor with marked up price + shipping fee sells -> To our local retailers with marked up price + shipping fee.

RM500++ for CE. With markup and shipping already around RM 600-700++ to asia regional distributor. You've got to top up to RM700-800++ to get some profits for that. And with the gst, how much our local retailers going to allocate the cost to bring in. So in the end if they charge it too low, not profitable. If charge too high, users will complain.

Tenso service has fallen so miserably bad that i feel like flying to japan and make them swallow a katana.
Package arrive on 23rd at 11am. They waited untill 24th to inform me package arrive and then allow me to do the payment. I made the payment around 10am. Untill now i also have not seen the package sent out.
I suppose they trying to drag it untill 25th so that the package can be sent out on friday and arrive on tuesday or wednesday.

Last time i use their services, immediately after package arrive, my account page will pop out to inform me to make payment on the same date it arrived. Then after making payment, next day sent out with EMS tracking code.

Got better forwarder recommendation ? I've been looking.. At least reliable and not Delivery Half Lost + Got and Run cases. Been looking and i couldn't find one.


*nvm... i googled a few and found that certain site is offering discount for normal EMS rates and they don't even have service charge fee* But these site do not offer english assistance . No issue for me anyway, i've been dealing with quite a handful of pure japanese sites without issue.

The indicated weigh doesn't necessary represents the weight of the parcel. It's sometimes also measured according to the parcel's dimension. If they use a bigger box to contain your small package, the price will be more expensive then it originally is. Tenso has been a big entity and they should receive certain discounts rate from EMS for using their services. Hence which is why they tried to make your parcel heavier then it originally is by repackaging it with a bigger box. Heavier = Higher price and they gets better returns from the discounts they get. The expansion if packaged rightly and along with it's dimension should weigh no more than 3kg.

I'm not really contented or fascinated by these overly priced premium stuffs from SE. In fact , i feel cheated.
First of all, no monthly timecard included.
The whole huge box have only 4 things that are useable. (1 book art of heavensward with his signature , 2 cd and a dragon figurine.)
The excessive paper box junks puts weight and burden to shipping cost. Some are hard and heavy as well.
Perhaps it gives u the flexibility to showcase your only "4 items" of heavensward.

Overall, it's just totally bs. They did not even calculate and design the ce to be shipping friendly.
Wished that i should have just order the download copy. RM492 for the ce and RM182 for delivering it to Malaysia , totall dmg cost , RM674.
