here's my spec...

AMD Althon 64 3200++ Venice
1GB (512x2) Kingston Value Ram DDR400
Coolermaster Extreme Power 380W
Winfast 7800GS @ 475/1420
Asus A8V Deluxe

i tried my processor on my friend's rig before...it's stable even at 2.6ghz...

but i cant even oc 3% with my processor... sometimes wont boot sometimes it crash terribly on the desktop... 3% increment only...

i hope to know what's the problem...

i tried lowering HTT speed to 800mhz, running dual channel at 2T command, 4 burst length for RAM...and the rest of the settings are default...like ram timings...vcore and all...

i hope to get some guide how much should i put for all those...

i think 380w psu is not enough..and the ram too..u should use high performance ram such as corsair xms..etc

my friend can oc his amd 64 3000+ (939) from 1.8ghz to 2.6ghz with 450w acbel psu, 2x512mb Corsair XMS(dual channel) and DFI Infinity mobo...
with stock cooler too..

he cant oc b4 with caplang 400w psu and 2x512mb corsair vs ram..

mobo oc-bility also must consider..

i think maybe the bios on ur motherboard hang u back as u alrdy test ur proc. on other rig..so maybe u shud try other mobos tht highly overclockable such as dfi biostar etc...ur psu is quite alrite since i can oc my sempron3000 from 1.6 to 2.2ghz only with stock psu n stock cooler..as for ur ram timing u alrdy cover ur base pretty well..

i'm not sure about that Asus board , but for value RAM you can always use 333mhz divider .
for 7800 , 380w power supply shakehead.gif
HTT speed won't affect much even you lower it to 1X

please correct me if there mistake rclxms.gif

hey, u overclock ur RAM also when u raise the HT lar.....did u lower ur RAM frequency? try it at 166Mhz and see.

i did my humble sempron 2500(default 1.4GHz) + MSI K8MMV(which is the worst overclocking board, trust me), 512MB RAM, guess how much i get?

overclocked ----->>> 2Ghz CPU speed, HT at 286Mhz, and RAM at 444Mhz. the HT multiplier i used is 2. and i max out the RAM voltage at 2.8V. the CPU voltage, HT voltage couldnt be tweaked at all, as i said the worst overclocking board.

by the way, im using my super capalang PSU 300W. PSU should not be ur problem actually.

Well, it's your ram that is holding you behind, my friend using Apacer DDR400 only managed to overclock just 5% faster before the system becomes unstable. You should get a pair of performance ram and a better mobo for better overclocking results. smile.gif
