hi all, does anyone know where I can find good articles on how to gain weight? Is force feeding myself a must?

I mean Googling is all good but most of the stuff I found are leaning towards bodybuilding.
I've taken up swimming recently, 30 minutes a day.

What Appeton Weight Gain provide is calorie in liquid form, which is the MAIN reason why most underweight people are underweight. They consume less calorie than their body burn hence reason why they are skinny.

For the Appeton Weight Gain (or other similar weight gain product) to work, they need to make sure that Calorie Consume > Calorie Burn by Body.

What you can suggest to your cousin is a fix meal plan for a week.
Put him for a 2000kcal diet plan consist of 5 meals a day. 3 solid meals (1600kcal) + 1 times Appeton Weight gain (400kcal). If he unable to gain weight or losing a lot of weight, bump the calorie intake to 2300kcal. Rinse and repeat until you get desire result.

Appeton Weight Gain is not a magic powder, nor I recommend people to consume it but understanding how small is the appetite for skinny people, it's understandable.

I'm consuming Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass and I've been gymming at the same time for the last 1 month. I have lost the fat around my belly (58kg pre-gym) and have gained some muscles and pecs, but recently I seem to be plateauing (still 58~59kg) in terms of weight.

I still intend to gain at least another 5-10 kgs, should I stop going to the gym and still continue to consume the weight gainer? But that would mean my muscles atrophy.

The thing is, in order to gain bigger muscles, I need to be constantly upping the weights that I lift. So seems to me both my intentions (gain mass & gain muscles) are in conflict with each other

What's the difference between gain mass and gain muscle and why are those conflicting with each other?

You're right in a sense. But well, while my strength has increase, my weight hasn't. So I'm looking for solutions.

You are not answering my questions and I'm confused by your answer atm.

Is it necessary to be passive aggressive? I've described the problem, and I'm just getting more questions as answers. I've said I want to gain both mass/weight and muscle, and I have only been gaining muscle/strength. Is that not clear enough?

That's a poor attitude to ask someone for an advice.

Don't stop going to gym, what you need to do is just increase your calorie intake (eg if you take one shake per day, increase to two shake, or eat more food than you currently do).

It's not advice if the he's answers a question with another question. But thanks for your advice.

Problem is that you have very minor knowledge on what you are asking and I tried to help you fixed that. If you failed to understand the basic terms, I'm very sure you are not gonna understand what I'm gonna explain to you.

But well, it's ok. I'm not the one who unable to gain mass and muscle in the same time. Yet again, what's the difference between muscle and mass?

It's ok bro. People who genuinely required advices can just PM me and I'll be glad to answer them when I have time. Prolly my method dont suit him but he is fine to ask someone else, hopefully with not that kind of attitude.
Musclemaniaclub, egonutritions, musclesup,  or any supplement shops in Malaysia which easily can be google.

This is what happens noobs or skinny guy wants to build muscle really fast. Bruh do you really think you can build amount of muscle for the last 1 month? Then fuck no. Your diet affects your gains not your serious mass.

Whatever you say bro. There's a proper way to communicate, and there's condescending ways to communicate (i.e show offs). Kshen has given me good tips in another thread so thanks for nothing.

Just wondering, how do you guys measure/keep track of the nutrition info when eating out? It's kinda hard to judge the calories.

Guesstimate via myfitnesspal. +/- 10% accuracy.
*
Yup I'm using it, though even when I search for foods it's puzzling. Like a bowl of prawn mee or standard plate of chicken rice, myfitnesspal search results sometimes come up with serving size = xxx grams, or 1 plate/bowl (don't know if small or big bowl lol).

Another thing, for a target of for gaining 0.5kg/week based on current stats, IIFYM calc says I should take around 2500 cals, myfitnesspal says I should take 3000 cals. I guess the obvious choice is to weight myself every week and see if I'm gaining and decide which 1 to follow.

Currently 175cm @ 61kg (added 3 kg after last 1 month with 4 gym days/week).
