So the first thing I wanna ask is, is it possible to gain muscles without taking protein shakes?
Yes, see protein shakes as an easy form of consuming chicken/egg. It's just a supplement.
It's liquid and easier to digest, so you can easily add it on to your diet in case you're lacking in protein. Simple as that, it's not a magic muscle builder nor a weight gainer.

- I know protein shake has got a lot of debate going on, but the general idea is that once you stop working, the fats sink in once you stop working out. So I'd like to know if there's a way to gain muscles without resorting to protein weights because I did indeed gain 2kg when I first took protein shake, and then stopped after awhile. Which brings me to my next question..
The main reason why you start gaining fats when you stop working out, is because your food intake (calorie intake) remains the same, but you are not utilizing them (previously through exercise), so your body stores the excess calories as fats. That's how people get fat. Protein powders to not magically cause you to gain fat if you stop working out.

What are good sources of Protein? Usually the good source of protein I know are so damn expensive and I can't be eating protein daily because my financial means don't allow it or that I do not always have protein foods at my home daily. Either that or sometimes I go to places where I can't get protein easily (like dining in a place that does not serve salmon dishes).
Eggs and whey protein are among the cheapest if you compare the price vs the protein per gram consumed.
Chicken comes second.

I am a green tea drinker, will that affect weight gains as well?
No significant effect.
