If you do not travel often and only go on those package tours, it may be more convenient to get the travel insurance for the duration of your tour from the travel company that you are going on tour with. Most are agents for some major insurance company, just make sure they are recognised ones. I think the coverage and premiums are pretty much the same so may not save much if you hunt around for the best deals.
