Hello, anyone has any recommendation for a travel insurance? I did a comparison on gobear and AXA seems value for money. Which one do you all normally buy?

I normally buy AXA Smart Traveller VIP.

However, I told them that the nominee's IC no. should be included together with the nominee's name.

Happy travelling. biggrin.gif

Ya, that's only RM39 per trip which is lower than other providers of the same benefits.. I guess I will go with AXA. Do you buy it online? I have few questions though:
1. I am worried about my luggage. Had a few bad past incidents whereby my luggage were damaged during handling. I checked AXA covers up to only RM500 for damaged luggage - is this your understanding too? Any other provider that provide a higher coverage?
2. Obviously it covers my flights. But does it cover my bullet train transportation too?
3. How are the claims process? Via online? If my luggage is damaged, for example, do I need to obtain any letters from the airport itself as it's documentation? Or just a photo will do?

01.You hv to weigh the benefits of each insurance policies. I think RM500 is a fair amount. Yes, you may find a higher coverage by another insurer but I'm looking at the overall picture here as AXA benefits is about the best there is. However, you can try out this gobear site to see what they recommend = https://www.gobear.com/my/travel-insurance?...wE&gclsrc=aw.ds

02. It covers all travelling during that period that you're insure with = see the policy wordings that you'll receive after signing on = "insurance is effective upon the issuance of the Certificate of Insurance and terminates on commencement of the planned Trip from Malaysia. For all other sections, insurance commences when You leave Your place of residence or business in Malaysia (whichever is the later) to commence the planned Trip until the time of Your return to Your place of residence or business in Malaysia (whichever is the earlier) on completion of the planned Trip. A planned Trip shall involve return to Malaysia within the Period of Insurance stated in the Certificate of Insurance."

03. Sorry, I've no experience on this. smile.gif
