QUOTE(celee @ Feb 18 2019, 07:15 AM) Hi all, i will be travelling to New Zealand with working holiday visa (6 months), considering to get a travel/oversea medical insurance. any recommendation? You should triple check the insurance policy carefully before purchasing it or not at all. I do notice that most travel insurance offer in Malaysia does not cover up with hospitalisation/outpatient treatment from illness. Don't be impressed by the highlight of "MEDICAL FEE PAYS UP TO 500,000.00". They are merely just a Personal Accident Traveller Policy. Like, accident, flight delay, luggage lost/damage and etc. etc. Which does not cover up if you were fallen sick at overseas. For your own security, you should have covered up with a Medical Insurance too at New Zealand. Note: A full medical coverage for traveller insurance will not be cheap anyway.

QUOTE(myrancid @ Feb 1 2019, 01:00 PM) Any comment for Etiqa 360 Tripcare? So so, just an ordinarily PA travel insurance only. Which does not cover up you from falling sick at overseas.

Right?

QUOTE(celee @ Feb 18 2019, 07:15 AM) Hi all, i will be travelling to New Zealand with working holiday visa (6 months), considering to get a travel/oversea medical insurance. any recommendation? No one could have given you any advice until you have received your travel insurance policy agreement anyway. Read carefully at the policy agreement. DO Beware of! I do notice most travel insurance offer at bolehland does not cover up us from illness. It states that very clearly in the policy for accident medical fee up to rm500,000.00 and so so only. but it does not cover up us from falling ill at overseas. Is best we have another travel insurance coverage at the country we were visiting for. Lastly, choose a local travel insurance company which has an international support phone number for assistance, rather than those insurance company which requested us to make a call back to bolehland for assistance.

QUOTE(touristking @ Mar 10 2019, 05:18 PM) Are there any insurance covering falling ill while overseas traveling? If you are traveling for more than a month. Are advice to cover up with another traveler insurance which offers out-patient assistance at those countries before you visit. At bolehland you will not get as what they advertised. At the policy, it stated very clearly medical fee for accident only.

I cover up with medical travel insurance when in Japan from Sompo or Tokio insurance. Pls do take note of it, travel insurance and medical travel insurance are two different policy. Full medical travel insurance is quite expensive than travel insurance somehow. Play safe when we were at overseas and not to have regretted it later on for just saving a few rm100+. Happy travelling n Holiday.

QUOTE(touristking @ Mar 26 2019, 03:38 PM) I took a look at a travel policy and it says "accidents or sickness" are covered. So going by that wording, medical treatment not due to accidents may be covered. You may have missed out the clauses which stated it very clear that you will have to bear for the medical expenses oversea first and make a claim later on? Pls read n read n don't just know how to have sok sendiri sja like fellow Malaysians DO! Or else, you will land into trouble when you were falling sick at overseas.lol. Will your family can afford to have pay for your medical expenses at oversea at the first place? Choose an insurance company which can offer us with cashless medical hlpe.

QUOTE(chang3rd @ Apr 4 2019, 01:51 PM) Hi, u seem knowledgeable about this. Can you recommend a insurance company that offers cashless medical coverage overseas, specifically for travelling to Japan, that can be bought in Malaysia ? Thanks. Is so scary to think of what the travel insurance offered in bolehland (pay first and make a claim later on). I'm not an expert to have advice you about travel insurance. But as far as i know, Is best we purchase another traveler medical insurance (cashless) when we arrive at a certain country. They don't offer it online. We can only purchase it when we reach the country. For more reliability, try to choose a marine insurance company but which may cost more for the premium. As for in Japan. i cover up with Tokio Marine Nichido's insurance. PLS DO TAKE NOTE: IT COVER FOR TOURIST ONLY. Many idiots at bolehland just known how to have read what is at the borchure offer only (even a professional). But they never read out the true policy coverage in the first place.
