Q: Are there any travel insurance that covers medical bills upfront? Meaning we don't have to pay first, then only claim for reimbursement. Most that i found says we have to foot the bills first. Return back to malaysia, then make a claim.

benefit sure lower than travel insurance but worth to do it? got to pay extra about 2%. worth it?

Not that I know of. As far as I know, insurance only covers baggage delay when you arrive your destination. Not home country.

I've gone through the axa smart traveller vip travel insurance. It's very brief on the coverage.

For example my concern is on unforeseen critical illness like stroke , heart attack etc. Will they cover under medical illness and the coverage enough to cover the expenses? Mostly will travel to Thai , Laos , Myanmar and Cambodia. But not frequent.

Another concern is if I'm travelling alone, how do I make claim if I'm unconscious due to some bad things happen to myself, will they check with all insurance company or I need to inform family members upfront about my itinerary?

I am traveling to Japan and flying back on 28th Japan time and touch down Malaysia 29th morning.

I supposed I've to buy till 29th right for my insurance? In case anything happened to the plane half way tho etc.

Proceed to claim for a 9 hours flight delay.

One of the document requested -- boarding pass unintentionally left in the aircraft when disembark -- the delayed journey just made me so fatigue to forget to bring back the piece of paper.

After the insurer heard of the above, no more respond and further engagement afterward -- they just simply ignored what other supporting e.g. irregularity itinerary and airline irregularity report provided to them earlier.
Moral of the story, look for other insurers in future trips.

I bought airtix from Auckland to KL for May 2019 on 20th October 18 during promo. A few days later,  I go book Auckland to Christchurch, with Jetstar as connecting flight from Auckland. (because AAX dun fly to Christchurch) and also because I believed AAX will honor their services.

2 weeks later on 8th November 2018 AAX announced they cancel all KL to Auckland flights starting 11 Feb 2019. The best alternative AAX give is to fly to Australia.
So I ask for refund from AAX, 2 weeks still belum dapat yet.

My biggest question is why throw a promotion and yet they had plans to cancel 2 weeks later? Really heartbroken, kena played and tipu.

I made claim with Tune Protect, AAX cancel flight and suspend the whole route, which is not my fault and no alternatives provided by AAX to get to Auckland.  Tune Protect denied claim because it doesn't cover in their policy and they said AAX has refunded my insurance money. Which they have not, AAX still holding my 13K hostage and insurance money.

Just bkful. Dun kena tipu like me. Say travel worry free. All tipu, better buy others.
