If you extend your trip for a few days due to flight changes (as a result of natural disaster), are you able to make a claim for the new flight fares?

Let's say for example - Original trip is from 1 October to 7 Oct

Due to flight postponement (arranged by the airline), you have to depart on 3 October instead.

No changes to the 7 Oct return flight to Malaysia.

Therefore, you decide to postpone your return flight (at your own expense) to 10 October.

Can I make a claim for reimbursement for the old return flight which was originally on 7 October?

I have asked the AXA Travel insurance. They don't reimburse your original return flight ticket if you decided to postpone your return flight.

But I have also asked AirAsia, they said if there is flight cancellation, we can opt to postpone both our departing flight and return flight at no cost to another date.

Of coz not.

One cannot make a profit out of buying insurance.

You just get back $$ what you lost.

Either you make a claim from one company only. Or you make an additional claim for the additional difference.

I will be taking a connecting flight in KLIA2 to overseas.

Do I need domestic cover in additional to international cover?
