I bought mine from Ace hardware, suspected this "Sirim" quality check is bullsh!t, bought twice and these regulator feels lousy, once the locking mechanism came apart and causes gas leaked, faster remove it. Bought another one but can hear gas hissing sound when securing onto gas tank.

Think I better get one from Singapore when I make a trip there. Don't want my unit to blow up because of these crappy quality regulator.

Actually Milux can be crappy too. I bought one Milux before. After fixing it to the tong I could hear slight hiasing sound from the regulator even when the stove is off. Took it to the shop to exchange. Changed with Chestar instead. Working till today.

Damn...we are sitting on a time bomb. This kind of hazardous stuff really need good quality assurance, "Sirim" stickers is just for show. No wonder there's several tank explosion cases last year.

Pardon me for bumping old thread. Ok, so far I've tried Chelstar, guess what? The locking mechanism/lever came apart, so much for safety.
Bought a new brand "KHIND", just popped to the new tank last week, very soft hissing sound, applied soapy water and indeed, there's minor leaking, can see small bubble getting inflated.
Gonna leave it as it is for now. Have tried at least 4-5 brands, all failed in terms of safety aspect. I'll try to look out for Milux.

While browsing around, came across this Clesse Comap regulator. Was impressed with the gas leak safety feature. Already placed my order, will give review after using it.

Using this model for 6 months now. Specs found here. CLeese UK has models that can switch from an empty gas tank to another called an  automatic changeover but these are for industrial or caravan park. There's a domestic model but either butane or propane but the tank fitment is meant for larger cylinders typically found in hotels or restaurants.

The lever on the Comet (Comap) need to be careful to know how to operate but otherwise it's good.

Thanks to your kind review. Much appreciated.

So bad the quality now.

This gas regulator should have straight quality control. This device handling the gas which is fire and explosion.

Let me test out Clesse Comap (Made in UK) then give a feedback. So far Chelstar, Milux & Khind all made locally, frankly I won't wanna use them anymore.
Another reliable brand is SRG from Germany but only available in SG. Let's see the reliabilty of Clesse first.

I'll be back.

Propane butane ? Suitable.

The control pressure is lower.

My friend is using Clesse, told me working well. Anyway, the fire on my stove is strong even on lowest setting with 2kg/h regulator, maybe this will solve the issue.

Just be mindful of the secure release method so as not to mangle or damage it when installing and releasing it from a gas tank. Thanks for the YouTube video which is useful esp from the segment between 0:51-0:53 secs. I will print a screenshot of that part that shows how to release, annotate and paste it on the inside of the cabinet.

Noted, appreciate the heads up once again. nod.gif

Update on Clesse gas regulator. Fixed it up, no sign & sound of leakage. Quality looks good and the weight it kinda heavy. Happy with the product.
