Well only major drawback is you lose warranty(probably), and maybe a few apps/games won't run when root is detected, to prevent hacking.

No, the only way to return to Kitkat is download and flash back Kitkat firmware.

Your phone is rooted right? most custom rom fixed this issue ady, I also forgot there is no Xposed framework on samsung's lollipop yet, which is one of the reason I am stuck with Kitkat.

EDIT: if you are still on kitkat, you can fix sdcard write issue with xposed module.

I am using wanam's kitkat rom, all his rom are closest to stock, additional options are available via his wanam xposed mudule, but since there is no xposed module for samsung lollipop yet, so there is no additional options yet, heh.

I use AdAway, no battery drain issue, don't download that one in playstore, it's fake, get it from F-Droid. (needs root)

Someone confirmed waze is still having issue on BOC5.

Yes, it will work, just make sure you download the one for the correct model.

EDIT: guys, please spam this waze forum to urge them to do something, even though it may not be waze-side problem they might actually try something when they get many complains. >.<

Well, you can't disprove other people's bad experience just because it works perfect for you. No offence but you're like saying they lied about it. Waze issue could be app-sided and could be not, because it works fine on all other Lollipop devices.

When you said people would be happier with BOC5 means there are bugs to be fixed on BOC3, most people just updated to BOC3 because that is what Malaysian release is based on.

Known issue, a custom rom is highly recommended if you root, anyway, a fix is possible if you're on kitkat:



You will only get Singapore's ota if you have a stock singapore rom, base on sammobile the only lollipop available for N910g is from india. But since you're rooted and have a custom recovery and your phone is AP..., why not go with custom rom?

Waze goes gila on lollipop is a normal issue, no way to fix it at the moment.

If you just updated to Lollipop, give it a few days to get back the normal battery life.

Have you tried the build.prop edit?

It should be under sounds and notification settings.

If you're talking about "heads-up" pop-up notifications it's lollipop features, can be disabled via settings-> sounds and notifications, mentioned many times.

It's available but very experimental, currently not working on touchwiz's lollipop.

Just download the latest version, it will work.

For me, fast charging > wireless charging, that's why it doesn't interest me much. :|

If you just flashed lollipop, give it a few days to regain the battery life. Can't say if custom rom will have battery issues or not but most custom rom tends to be more optimized than stock, but if a bug(eg: battery issue) exist on stock rom, it will most likely be carried over to the custom roms that based on it.

I see, you mean calls doesn't drop when phone is on 3G? How is their 3G's data performance anyway?

I also realized 4G speed doesn't mean much when there is a limit, I'm on Maxis's 2gb plan priced at RM128(whilst their 3gb is at RM158 ), If I fully utilized 4g speed it will use up 2gb in a single day. =_=
