hello guys..have some questions..so i have rooted and install CWM custom recovery..
and now wanted to flash wanam rom..i know i need to do a clean wipe..but i dont want to wipe the internal sd since i will be flashing through internal sd..
right now im at the CWM menu.. there are a few options

1)wipe data/factory reset
2)wipe cache partition

which one should i use? will choosing option 1 wipes my internal data?
*
I use TWRP recovery and I find it much simplified and newbie friendly compared to CWM, anyway,

Normally, a wipe data/factory reset will do, doing this will not fully format your system(only data and cache), meaning it's just like factory reset on stock phone where you can still boot and set up your phone like you're using it for the first time, except it will NOT wipe your Internal Storage or Micro SD card.

To perfectly clean your system and install from scratch, you have to format the system as well, but this is usually done automatically when you install a custom rom like wanam's so it's not necessary.

Just becareful with the menu and avoid formatting Internal Storage or Micro SD card and you're safe.

Or just w8 for waze to update the app for lollipop  smile.gif
*
Waze works perfectly fine on other lollipop phone and other samsung lollipop so it's probably not an app-side problem. :\

QUOTE(UTK @ Mar 20 2015, 08:40 PM)
U can't seem to get the point.

note 4 is known for bad reception, no matter telcos.
Somebody had mentioned samseng acknowledged this, and verified by engineers.
But for digi, it's more irritating bcos it's the weakest network.

It's only slightly better on maxis and celcom.
Quite simply, if calls are important to u then note 4 is a poor choice.
Unless u prefer to be stubborn and pig headed on it.
*
I have maxis one plan with unlimited call, and I talk on phone a lot, never had a drop-out call actually, I really don't think Note 4's reception is that bad.

I think you misunderstood me. What I want is a more responsive recent apps button, at least as responsive as the note 3 , as currently multitasking on the note 4 is slower than a moto E doh.gif
*
This is indeed my only issue with Note 4's touchwiz at the moment. >.<

Guys
I dropped the phone from about 120cm
Should say throw... sweat.gif
Luckily not face down
But land on its back
Exterior alright...but will it affect the internal?
*
I hope you had a case on, anyway, open the dialer and dial *#0*#, you can test everything in there.

QUOTE(rayhvs @ Mar 21 2015, 04:47 PM)
Hi. May I asked which memory is capable for note 4? Last time  I heard that note 4 will keep auto restart if we put wrong sd card.
*
I have a 64gb microsd card from Samsung, no problem at all.

The aluminium bracket costs rm100 and the body casing costs around rm300. The lcd screen and components inside not included.
*
If you're daring and good at diy/tech, you can get the parts from ebay cheaper.

I second that. As far as i know, the latest Lollipop 5.0.1 for N910C is from Macedonia N910CXXU1BOC3
*
Indeed, even if there is a new release, Malaysian most likely won't be the first to have it anyway.

im not sure if im eagerly wanting to upgrade my Note 4 to lollipop or not. Tested on Poland's lollipop firmware, the smoothness is good. But battery life wise, not that good. Right now im on Kitkat again, and the battery life is damn good. After discharge 6 hours ago, battery life still got around 84% and SOT already pass 1 hour mark.
*
Indeed, I'm actually quite happy with Note4's kitkat, have been on Lollipop for a week and back to Kitkat, there isn't much to miss really. :|

If waze update their app it will be fixed. G3 also having this issue on lollipop so I dont think its lollipop issue instead its a compatibility issue. Battery is better but not much. About 30-45 minutes SOT more. Of course perform a clean upgrade is the best. If you perform dirty upgrade diff users may have diff problems.

Could not take the freezing and stuttering on games on KitKat thats why upgrade to lollipop. Smoothie. Lollipop also supports 64 bits whereby kitkat doesnt.

So many reasons to go to lollipop smile.gif If u use waze as your bread and butter and cannot use the alternative google maps then u have to stay on kitkat till waze gives a hotfix on this
*
Waze works perfectly on Lollipop Note 3(and other devices) so I don't think it is waze issue.
Have you actually tried the Poland Lollipop release yourself? There're also other issues mentioned in several posts on the first page of this thread. After updated My benchmark decreased from 50k to 30k, battery life also decreased and phone gets hot for no reasons. Samsung has not enabled x64 on their lollipop for Note4, probably never will due to their 32bit Qualcomm counterparts.

Of course, if they fixed all these problems then there is no reason to not update. wink.gif

I used before it before, even though I did not notice any reception issue, and it looks excellent at first sight, I wouldn't recommend it. tongue.gif

Im using the poland firmware for daily driver. For me only waze not working, so its still ok for me. I do a clean upgrade as in after upgrade i reformatted. Its up to u whether u wanna upgrade or not just sharing my experience. It is much smoother on lollipop.
Am not forcing anyone to upgrade smile.gif
*

I'm glad it works fine for you, but if you look at the several posts at first and 2nd page, I am not the only one having those issues. I'm also stating my experience with the currently lollipop being is not stable(for me anyway), and I will upgrade when Samsung fixed those problems in future. smile.gif BTW, yes, I did a clean install.

why you wouldnt recommend it? hmm.gif

Here's my reason:
QUOTE
It's quite easy once you get a hang of it, but there is a con on the metal version because the metal frame will not survive a fall. Recently dropped my phone from a table height, phone is ok but the metal frame kemek and misshaped. Took me a while to get it back in shape. But there is a permanent dent on one corner... Never had this problem with the plastic version on my Note 3 which I used for a year, and dropped a few times, still looks good.

The metal version looks a lot better than the plastic version but you have to handle it with care, the frame is softer than it looks, it will protect the phone but will not protect itself, maybe I will just use until it hancur then change back to plastic version. :\

Now I am using the plastic version. My metal frame looks like shit now, after several attempts to bend it back, I gave up. sad.gif

Since you're rooted, why not go with custom rom? L5 have been available for quite some time, here is close-to stock BOC3 custom rom.
