Erm....sir... u might try inserting the memory into the reader then insert it to the usb port.

I experienced the same issue wif my kingston 15 in 1 card reader which i got from the memory verification lucky draw.
It won't detect anything if its plugged into usb 1st. if i plug my memory in 1st..it works everytime. Not sure why....but it works
