i bought a thumbdrive reader from a member here . item received and i hav no time to check since i am in hurry for a bus to KL . so the item left in my house without open the box .

friday , 6/10/2006 , i back at my hometown ( kluang, johor ) and i open the thumbdrive reader box and would like to use it . once i plug in the thumbdrive card reader , and my mmc ( which is 100000% working condition ) , the card reader cant detect my mmc , so i change another sd , which is my camera SD . and the same result showing that '' please insert a disk into x:\ ''

so i pm the seller , and ask for the resolution , and the seller offer me 3 solution which i really not satisy . forget abt some ''special'' question and i would like to make it short , i will post that 3 solution offered by the seller

1.) send the items back to me and i full refund to you - RM17.
2.) send the items back to me and i send it back to you at no charges.
3.) rma at pj ss2 / subang jaya ss15 at your convenient time.

for the first solution , i not satisfy since i hav to pay rm5( first time buying postage to my address ) + rm5 ( postage to seller address ) which is total rm10 . well , after paying rm 10 for courier , and i get nothing and wasting my time to test the card reader on few pc and few mmc/sd . i will just get back my rm17 , and waste rm10+time , sad.gif

for the second solution , i will total pay rm5( first time buying postage to my address ) + rm5( postage to seller address ) , and get back a new thumbdrive card reader , the thumbdrive card reader price is rm17 , postage totally is rm10 , so i pay extra rm5( postage to seller address ) , mean i pay twice postage fee to get a thing which is less than 200G ( including the plastic cover ) , why must i do that ?

for the third solution , i think the transportation fee for me to go there , simply cost more than rm10 .

sorry if my english not that good . sweat.gif

question by seller in private messages :

when u purchase stuff at shop, do they need to provide your petrol cost coming to their shop?

when u need to claim warranty, do they need to pay your petrol cost for you to come to their shop for warranty?

he need my answer for this two question , because i dun want to pay the postage again , to send back the item , and the postage for the item to my address for the second time

my answer , for the first question : i do pay postage for the item to arrive at my home

for the second one : if the item received in perfect condition , then i still need to pay petrol cost to go to that particular shop for waranty ?

quote from seller private messge :

''we done our best part at here but things going wierdly n we don wish too. who want to sell stuff to you that is spoilt and taking so much time to discuss with u on this small matter?

dude, the resolution that i given to you earlier is accept by 99.9% by others buyer and u r the only 1% which i got you a buyer... i must say i am so unlucky.

if u don wish to pay anything, i got one more resolution for u but it may sound not reasonable to you but it works on those 1% buyer "

you cant expect the shops there to pay for courier costs to take back the faulty product and ship back a working product. besides, no one can guarantee 100% safety when shipping is involved, whether it is by courier or poslaju. you agreed to take the risk involved in shipping.

*
em...the thing is not damage at the cover ( outside ) , and i believe is some circuit problem in the chip , so no blame to courier or poslaju .

please step into my shoes and think abt my situation . the thing received is faulty already , try not to make any comparison and imagination when buying at shop , now the dispute happen caused by online purchasing , different terms and conditions

and , if we buy something at shop , who expected we bought a faulty product ? i believe that no one will expect that . shakehead.gif

btw , some dealer really come your home and collect faulty item at no charge , and does ship back a working product -- DELL

fren, when you buy things online - you can't expect yourself not to pay additional postage if anything goes wrong.

all 3 propositions are acceptable.

he can't possibly pay for your postage in option #1, simply because there's no way to safely say you didn't spoil the goods. so it's not fair for him.

sometimes its like that, buy faulty goods usually cost a bit extra.
*
but the fact is , item received in faulty condition sweat.gif

anyway , i decided to bring it to local pc shop to check unsure.gif

ok you don't get what i mean.

let's say you're the seller, a buyer say it arrive in spoilt condition. how can you guarantee that buyer telling the truth?

i'm not saying you're lying, i'm saying the seller protecting himself from such a situation.

it really depends on the seller and his terms and condition.

sometimes unlucky, the additional expense is unavoidable. sad.gif

hi all,

i'm not too sure i'm sound reasonable enough, i'll let the community to judge.

according to a largest online store in malaysia, below is the guideline
well, you judge.
*
QUOTE
1. If the item delivered are incomplete, buyer should not bare the cost of paying for the rest of the delivery. Seller have to bare the rest of the partial delivery charges.

2. If the wrong item are delivered to the buyer, buyer should not bare the cost of sending back the item. Seller have to bare the cost of getting back the item and also the cost of re-delivering the right item to the buyer. ( Please be a gentlemen and do not penalised your customers for your own mistake. )

- (Wrong item do refer to completely different model, item, sizes, color, or physical attributes which can be easily identified)

3. If the item received by buyer are dead on arrival or faulty. Buyer have to bare the cost of sending back the item to the seller, seller have to bare the cost of re-sending the faulty item to buyers.

then why at first you ask me to pay for the postage to send back to you , and the postage send back to me ? why dun you refer this first before you tell me that ?
