guys,
currently using iphone 5. but lumia 640 seems gooding. is WP better now? last time did used 920, but the phone crashed and lack of apps makes me turn back to apple. got local apps like maybank2u, cimbclick? |

Got hands on today in Qatar.
Basically 640XL are pretty light with that size, the back cover are soft and got blue, orange, black, white to choose. But as it is meant for Middle East, do I have problem on software support? LTE roll out vy fast by telco, they hv the target that need to meet, last time when LTE just start roll out, i nvr expect Klang will hv LTE anytime soon. but after 1 year, celcom start , then maxis and follow by digi.

Some other review on this 640XL, the screen and back cover are finger print friendly.
But can be easily be cleaned using cloth(even not that clean). |

It's server side issue of I'm not mistaken. To many ppl downloading candy crush. Try google it, this problem is applicable to all WP device. So its not an isolated problem.

I owned a 640 XL for two weeks now. Previously uses android phones.
Wondering what kind of games you played on your 640. Platforms, puzzles and strangely RPG games are find on this phone but I'm having stuttering or lag issues when playing racing or action game (Dead Trigger 2, Overkill). You can feel the phone is struggling to run these games. Again I understand this is an entry/mid range phone but I just want to know if you all are having the same issues. Maybe we can share what kind of game playable on this device. |

Did not encounter these condition before. Only get's hot when running games.
Not really hot.. warm would be more accurate. Btw I'm seeing tiny scratches on my screen.. Anyone knows where to buy some screen protectors/tempered glass.. huhu |

Is there different in terms of quality between 640 and 640 XL? Saw that 640 XL is carl zeiss and 640 is not.. wonder got any different... Wanted a dual sim phone that can replace compact camera..

I read a lot of ebook on my android/iphone but I can't seem to find a good ebook reader for windows, can someone help me out here. As far as eBook readers go, I'm currently using Tucan. It's not too bad, although I kinda do miss CoolReader from Android days.
Has anyone gotten any luck with networking the phone with the rest of the devices in the house? I've been looking half across the Web for an app that had SMB/Samba client functionality, and I only found one paid app (nothing for free). It's amazing that a Windows-powered phone will not connect to Windows-powered PCs. Also, anybody have any luck getting LTE to work on the 640/640XL? Celcom XPAX user here, and it does not seem to work - either that, or I'm not in coverage area. But I would have thought Bangsar Baru was a prime location... |

Which one would be a good one, an upgrade from the 925 that I'm having. It's not a 625. My other staff have the 625. We decided to get 30 of them for sales and engineers. |

Do you by any chance pin Cortana at your start screen? Cause its usually the culprit that makes the phone battery drain fast. Unpin Cortana and the problem should be solved.

Having Cortana on start page is just a short cut right? Because for Cortana to work, we need to enable the location services... Without it it will not run.. Not sure how it will affect the battery ..

Just got my 640 XL today, 1st thing I did is unpin Coratana from start screen, lol
My 1st Windows phone, using it for a couple of hours and I'm loving it! Those Windows mobile bashers are really missing out on a great device. Try experimenting with background photo under Theme.
To turn off data, set it as a quick action, by pulling down Action Centre from top of screen, tap All Settings, select notifications + actions, then choose the mobile data as one of your quick actions you want. not only 640xl other model like 1520 of mine also having "we're having trouble getting data" on FB, its a common problem when your data signal is weak. all you have to do is look for better signal spot or you may try to toggle your data off then on.

The one thing I noticed about Windows Phone is that even on old hardware, it's quite responsive. The 640XL LTE, for instance (the phone I'm using), is actually quite an old Snapdragon. But bootup is fast, unlocking is fast, calling is fast, using the various productivity apps is fast, even playing Lara Croft: Relic Run is (mostly) fast. Granted, Crash Bandicoot 2 & 3 are horrifyingly slow, but playable nonetheless.
On another note, has anyone successfully used a Bluetooth keyboard on WP8.1 Update 2 phones? Looking to buy the Microsoft's Universal Mobile Keyboard, except every reviewer so far has said it doesn't work with WP. But Update 2 is supposed to include support for Bluetooth HID... |

I noticed that my apps + games takes 1.09 GB while system alone takes 4.00 GB. there's only 1.94 GB left. Is this normal? |

yeah sounds about normal, but you can move many apps to SD card using Storage Sense.

LTE version RRP RM 999, should be able to get around RM 800 since Dual SIM 3G version is only RM759 at some shops although RRP is RM929
BTW the LTE dual sim or single sim? Soyacincau didnt specify about this. |

Just ordered this matte white case from Aliexpress, waited over 2 weeks to arrive but worth it.
The quality is 95% original, the logos, buttons are pretty much same as ori cover. Buttons works perfectly. Anyone want the link can pm me. Its now US$7.8 including shipping. Also comes with a screen protector.

I have few downloaded videos from YouTube stored in my Lumia 640 XL. Sometimes, I watch them but for most of the time, I just want to play the audio. talking about battery life, that 3000mah always left around 40% for my daily usage |

comparing with Asus Zenfone 2 Laser, which one could perform better? both are 13mp but Lumia640XL has Carl Zeiss lens.. May I know first time charge battery need 8hrs? The salesman told me need 8hrs for first time charge battery. But my colleague say nowadays battery no require to do that, just full charge enough. Thanks. |

1. Double tap function is ok or not? Mine not working and read from web said that failure rate is high 2. When I call somebody, phone screen goes blank and I unable to know the call status. I have to press power button to reactivate the call screen. Is it normal? Can I set as normal phone I.e screen goes blank only when the phone near ear. |

Did some hands on with 640XL. Quite a nice phone and solid build for the price. The only real problem is that the SoC used is a very, very old kind which due for EoL in not to distant future.
Wonder why MS seems to always going for one of the lowest end for the SoC when other brand can give you better SoC for half the price. |

Hi All Users,
I have few issue below, can advise how to solve it? 1. screen appear multiple fines lines blinking(sometime only) 2. Cannot reopen some previous app from the long press back key<- 3. Item in Quick action is show turn on but actually it is not(sometime only) 4. Facebook app is slow,message will show on top like cannot retrieve data. (is it facebook app issue or cellular data function issue) 5. Here drive app maps is it not up to date?(downloaded maps before). It still show route to destination with high traffic (but waze will alternate route). Is it setting can solve? Hope can get idea from you. Thanks |

so my 920 died a few days ago. think its the battery and i will get it replaced, but im interested to get the 640 LTE as replacement. can you guys recommend where to get the cheapest new set available? another thing, will the camera be better or at least on par with the 920? im not a fussy photography guy, but i like to have good pictures without being too technical. |

sigh... guys i need help.. I upgrade my lumix 640 3G to windows 10 and then I forget that I've updated it and when I rest it to factory setting it failed and it shows me ':(' sign... can anyone help me?

factory reset should still work even on Insider build of Win 10. have you tried Windows Device Recovery Tool? can it detect your phone?

was the battery adequately charged before the reset?
maybe you can try hard reset again using the hardware button sequence... |
