QUOTE(pin10 @ Aug 29 2016, 09:36 AM) tks bro, but i think i will try hard reset 1st after tranfer all my important doc. if my warranty already pass, this issue can send to sc? will they charge me? if this is cause by win10, not my phone hardware(Hope so...) Let me know how it goes after a hard reset. If your warranty has expired then I think they will charge you; best is to call them and ask for a rough quotation so you have an idea of how much it might cost. |

Hi guys,
Anyone able to get around storage issues? I am due for an update but it keeps saying I don't have enough space. I have set for all new downloads for apps, photos, videos etc to be saved in my SD. Only certain apps like whatsapp has to be stored in the device. As you guys know the 640XL is loaded with only 8 gigs (but I see here it says 7.28GB) while I already have 6.65GB used up. The system and reserved stuff alone takes up 5.70GB of my storage and I have 941MB of apps (I don't have any games). The update notifier says I need 723.77MB free so I can install the update. So I can't delete the system & reserved stuff and my apps well the biggest is my mail/calendar which takes up 677MB, I can't delete that because I really need that app. Whatsapp takes up 566MB and I can't move that to my SD card. The rest are small apps like One Note, Microsoft Edge etc. Anyone facing a similar situation? How else can I clear space? Thanks in advance! |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Mar 22 2017, 01:34 PM) Try clearing Temporary Files under Storage\Phone and browser cache. Thanks for this man, I'll definitely give it a go. I managed to move several smaller apps to my SD which cleared enough space for the update. And you can back up your WhatsApp chats to OneDrive or the SD card, then uninstall the app. When you install back WhatsApp after updating the OS, you will get the option to restore the backup in the initial setup. Will give the WhatsApp back-up a shot. Thanks! |

Hi guys,
Anyone facing storage issues? Mine is mainly to do with the internal memory. I can't upgrade to the latest build because my internal storage is almost full. All apps, videos, photos etc are being saved to my SD card directly. Some apps as you know must be stored in the internal memory and I can't do much about that. The OS itself takes up so much space. I keep deleting whatsapp chats/group chats etc to leave some space but the warning comes back after a few days. Anyone facing this? Or can help with this? Thanks in advance! |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Jun 14 2017, 08:13 PM) You can uninstall the Office apps if you don't need them. Thanks for the tip man.And make sure to clear your browser history/cache. The OS should take up around 3GB space. Another option, do cloud backup, hard reset, update OS while phone is naked, then hard reset again and restore from backup. Otherwise, upgrade to Lumia 650 with 16GB internal memory. I might take a look at the office apps I don't need and delete them. The cloud backup/hard reset option sounds kind of tedious to me, I'm not really a tech-whiz and I am afraid I might screw up somewhere and end up losing contacts etc. But it does sound like a viable option and I will read about it to find out more. Actually I'm thinking of upgrading to the 950 XL? Any thoughts? |

QUOTE(jack208 @ Jun 15 2017, 07:18 AM) Hi, you didn't specify which Lumiz 6xx you have. I presume it's the L640 or older model? Hi,I'd a similar situation before. No matter how many apps or files you removed, it still says insufficient memory/space. The only way around this is to do a hard-reset and then upgrade direct to Win10. Win10 can still install onto a factory-reset condition L640. Sorry yea, I am using the 640 XL. Seems like a hard reset is the only option. Oh well, I'll probably dedicate some time over a weekend to do this and hope I don't lose any crucial information. Thanks! |
