Multitasking on Octacore 64-bit is a breeze.... and this vid is for KitKat 32-bit... wait till P70 gets Lolli 64-bit... it will definitely be lightning fast...

Aiya even the older A7 also not actually bad for phone type multitask la, to me its more towards choosing an appropriate gpu nowdays for phone. Considering it only had 720p, the mali t760 mp2 should be sufficient enough for majority games.

a good phone choice over other phones at price range between 5xx - 6xx

The price actually cheaper than in china, which is 1399 rmb, and early batches of the phone only equip with 1gb ram only

It's rather strange that this version of phone appear in our online retailers first before mainland China. You can't find this phone in top e-commerce sites from China or even aliexpress
*
No, its already available in lenovo own online store, and other sites such like taobao and tmall. Just that the early version is only available with 1gb ram.

that's my point, even gizchina.com only has news for p70-t which has mtk6732 and 1gb ram.
*
I dont follow news from gizchina since majority is just stolen translated review with crap translation. Since the p70 is already been available for awhile in china (the 1gb batch), just I guess majority review sites just skip this 2gb version, especially the actually performance of mt6752 and mt6732 is just the core differences and some speed differences only.

And china p70 is with the leather faux back cover instead of like the 2gb version here.

Can ask, who buy is it free SP can Ori Case from Lenovo?

Depends on seller I guess, but only cheapo film sp, practically pointless. Waiting glass sp ordered from taobao to arrive next week

QUOTE(xpresside @ Mar 3 2015, 10:56 PM)
got another model p90 also coming out right...
*
Shouldnt compare together since p90 is a 5.5 incher.

QUOTE(customer2 @ Mar 4 2015, 12:09 AM)
rm679? This is surprisingly cheap if you convert from 1399 yuan to myr. Meizu m1note is coming soon to Malaysia at the price @ rm699 while china only sell it for 999yuan...
*
Bought at rm675, and china 2gb version is 1499 rmb if not mistaken. Both are slight different category where some consider 5.5 is too big.

M1 note is suitable for me because i like larger screen but i dont like they charge so expensive for it...
*
999rmb basically is unable to get one, as majority already grab by scalpers. When check from reseller, cheapest one also around 1.1, where some even reach 1.3k rmb. There are plenty 5.5 incher in the market nowdays for mid range but 5 incher is getting rare.

Some benchmark and score which just ran for testing. If both sim support 4g, then its really perfect smile.gif

Woops... Just saw in one of the earlier pics, the sim2 is clearly labeled 2G. Sim1 is 4G supsupported,  though.
Was thinking of getting this, but now that it's confirmed to be 4G + 2G, I think I will skip. I need to be able to switch data between 2 simcards without needing to physically swap cards (currently using Zenfone 5). Think I will wait for Zenfone 2 iinstead, hoping Asus will continue the trend of dual data sim (4G+4G or even 3G+3G at least).
*
For such price and specs in local market, there not much complain on the phone already. For phone price range from rm500+ to rm600+ range which both sim could support 4g, you will need to look for those chinese model, such like coolpad f2 fhd. This phone is certainly not bad as a backup phone for this kinda price.

QUOTE(nevland @ Mar 4 2015, 08:42 AM)
some are skeptical with the benchmark... it certainly outnumber the last year flagships.
hopefully real life experience will be good as well.
Then, 2015 could be the year of Mediatek
*
I personally dont rely much to benchmark, especially antutu, but there alot which use it as guideline so just ran it for their sake only, which is why also I ran basemark, epic citadel which is more game engine base, and 3d mark as well which I forgot to upload. Anyway those are just references only.

How's the camera performance? Photos? Video? I saw both good and bad comment on this... need more clarification

Will try to post some photos later when I had the time, but dont complain bout my shaky hands tongue.gif . Will use the auto mode since I not good with those exposure type of settings

QUOTE(nevland @ Mar 4 2015, 04:11 PM)
@sniperwolf, a quick review from you please..

1) Build quality of the phone
2) sample photos taken from front and back camera
3) battery life so far
4) any noticeable lag  encountered sp far
thank u
*
1. not bad for this price range, imo looks pretty similar to mi3 in term of design
2. will post it later, but I dont selfie, so will be the back camera photo
3. this will take bit time to test, as I havent actually charge the phone yet. Was draining the battery to get below 10%, then only will charge it, which will be later tonight. The phone come wilth around 40%+ battery life and now left around 10% after some benchmarking, photos and gaming
4. none so far, all pretty smooth. Phone only get slight warm after bout half hour of asphalt 8 in highest graphic setting, which is pretty good compare to the older mt6592 which I had tried before

QUOTE(abu.shofwan @ Mar 4 2015, 04:31 PM)
@sniperwolf
Thanks for the tip. I still cannot make myself accept "those Chinese model" phones, though.
So far my Zenfone 5 serves me well, despite the lackluster battery life.
Right now, Zenfone 2 looks to be my best bet for an upgrade, though it only has 3.0Ah. It will launch with Android 5, though.
Second option considered was actually Acer E700, the triple-sim card phone. However, to me the only advantage that this model has over ZF5 is its 3.5Ah battery. Spec wise, not so much of an upgrade.
*
I personally also using a chinese phone as my main phone, nubia z7 max, which is pretty reliable so far and worth my every cent, since its the first model which offer dual sim 4g support last year. Acer and Asus is also considered as chinese phone imo, just that the company base is in Taiwan only, same goes to HTC tongue.gif

Coolpad and TCL is quite a big company in China which produces reliable phones, which is why you could give it a try for the sub 1k rmb range phone with dual sim 4g support. For coolpad F2, only the fhd model fully support all local 4g band, where its variants only able to support band 1 and 3 only. TCL mmd 3n also only capable of band 1 and 3 support as well, which it wont bother much if you with maxis or celcom 4g. Coolpad f2 is equipped with snapdragon 615, where tcl mmd 3n is equipped with mt6752m

Redmi 2 with 2gb ram has just launched as well in china, but the unicom version has yet to be seen, which will be another budget friendly dual sim 4g phone when its available.

Battery fully charge from around 8~9% left to 100% in 1 and half hours. There will be a beeping notification when fully charged and indicator led will turn green.

As for gps, waze took less than 20 secs to track and load maps on the 1st run while I am inside my room.

I feel the only selling point in this phone is that majestic 4000mAh battery in a 5" body. How is the root work for this phone ? is it easy to root ?
*
Its basically an upgraded p780 with much capable cpu and gpu, with 4g enable, at an affordable price, that all. The battery durability I guessed might not be as great as the old p780, since the newer soc should be consuming more power than the older 6589.

QUOTE(sitescope @ Mar 5 2015, 12:00 AM)
demmm... 4k mah charge in 1.5 hrs ???
so waze is working although this hp dun have compass... have u set any destinations & try to follow it ?

1 more questions :-
when connected to 4g, got call, hp drop to 3g (coz didn't support VOICELTE), after finish call, hp sometimes didn't connect back to 4g
is it true ?
*
From my observation, battery level reach 70% after an hour of charging with the default 2A charger. Battery level drop around 1-2% during an idle of around 7-8 hours. Bare in mind its just in the original state without any optimization

No idea since umobile dont have 4G coverage in bangsar as well as my working place.

As for waze, will try to swap my sim over to test it out later if free, since I just slot in a spare sim to the phone for testing purpose only.

Does this model have tap to wake feature too?
Saw a video where he just taps the screen instead of pressing the power buton

*
You could choose to use double tap gesture to wake the screen, or use default power button or volume keys to do so

I think you need to reconsider getting from satugadget if you want the back case and film sp. From what they reply in lelong, their p70 doesnt come with those.

*
Mi note is a different class level phone already, with snapdragon 801 or 810. If you refer to redmi note, its bulkier, with a much old and outdated chipset.

Not sure I on WiFi and Mobile Data caused this problem.
*
Try limit your connectivity to hsdpa/hsdpa+ and monitor the battery drainage. My test unit didnt use data, since I just use a spare sim on it for testing purpose only. Both data and wifi are set to on, sot easily 7- 9 hours with just gaming and web surfing. You could refer to the screenshot I posted earlier
