with what you have as main, a hammershot would fit the side arm role so much better though. it's orange and can be primed 1 handed......./*imagining scenarios*/.... cool2.gif

I always carry a DoubleStrike for one handed emergency use (on top of everything else). The Retal (with upgraded springs) is more for CQB when the Rifle-Stryfe is too unwieldy... or to plink off people deliberately from medium range to save darts (it's pretty hard to avoid hosing with the Stryfe under fire).

As for the Mershot, I actually prefer the convenience of using mags, though being able to one hand prime is a definite advantage. Also, the Retal is slightly more compact.

TBH, if Hasbro can pull off a thumb-prime Triad and keep it about as small, it would be the perfect backup sidearm really.

The next best thing is the Rebelle 4 victory, one handed hammer priming with 4 darts....but its purple and pinks. Hahaha

But it's hugeee lol... almost as big as a Mershot.

Plus 4 barreled SmartAR usually loses A LOT of power by the 3rd-4th barrel. A 3 barrel SAR fares better usually.

BTW, out of sheer boredom, replaced the flywheels and mag release of my Rifle Stryfe with Worker ones late last night (big shoutout to the ever reliable sasaug for the parts).

Today, I'm literally watching paint dry lol:

First time painting too... oh the anxiety.

Someone selling one at Mudah.my

But its RM180 full set with box and extra 18 darts clip.

Thanks for the update boss, but I already got mine (whitey), and I'm pretty much done for now.

Thinking of turning it Stryfe Orange though, to match my Rifle primary. Though I wonder what Orange shade I should use... and if black or white would be better as the base coat.

I already have some Rust-oleum Ultimate flat black (awesome paint BTW, ends up with a very "tactile" finish) left from painting the Retal barrel, but not sure if it would work in making the end product bright orange.

Khaos will not be cheap (if its available here). Based on how hyperfire priced, this will be rm420.

Btw, i liked the Zeus design better.

TBH, the entire HIR lineup hasn't made it to Malaysia yet, and I don't see why the Khaos would be an exception.

No matter. There's always the Internetz. Even though personally I personally prefer darts to HIRs. That said, the Atlas *is* still interesting to me however, looks and functions very well as a shotty (2 HIRs per shot).

Yay just snagged a Roughcut at RM80 thanks at AEON Shah Alam. That even cheaper than the RM90 offer TRU had last time.

Was looking around for one too, even 2nd hand. Annnnnd last unit, so yeah, really a case of right place, right time.

Roughcut once before on sale at giant for rm50. I bought 3.

Wow... makes TRU's current price of 110 so sooo expensive in comparison lol. Which giant?

Also, any way you can 3D print a longer more substantial slide for the Roughcut? You have a printer right?

Yeah, all giant, but now no more.

3d print will get more expensive as size increase... Thus not recommended to print large object. Also, it need to have more 'fillings'  to make it sturdy.

Try searching for similar design at thingiverse.com. Then we can discuss.

True that, I did consider it being 3D printed to be an issue as it will be a force bearing part. Supposedly the Rampage/Raider grip does fit though, with adjustments. But buying a Ramp just for the grip is a bit... you know.

However, while opening it up to mod the internals (for more reliable doublefire... skimmed the right chamber trigger sear a bit), I actually found out that simply reversing the given grip (fat side forward) improved my hold on it substantially.

Now it's considerably easier to prime without having to add a vert grip, keeping the profile low as is. Unfortunately, the grip slant is also reversed, but the thing was far from comfy to begin with so no real biggie.

Maybe I can get some sugru and getto grip the thing into something more comfortable.

Another option is to custom made/print adapter for using retaliator front grip (rm15++).

My GoogleFu failed me, couldn't find any of those. Linkies? I got a spare foldable modulus grip I'm not using too.

Not made yet, just an idea.

I can try design it,  seems interesting. But to really secure the grip to the adapter, i think epoxy cement is needed. Because the rail connector is not strong enough.
*
Probably. The normal Nerf way of securing attachments isn't really... well... secure lol.

While searching, I did find a few replacement grip designs. Thingy has one, 3DPrintedSolid also has one. The 3DPS one is the most interesting as it only uses a few screws... but of course they're not sharing the design lol.
