none. you need lipos. li-ion doesn't have high enough discharge rate. while they are better than alkaline, they will take longer to rev up compared to lipo.
IMRs are better than typical li-ion, but do note a proper 14500 IMR cell don't usually comes with 1300mAH. IMR are high discharge, but low capacity. so, 600-750mAH is usually the typical range. the 1300mAH is probably fake.
of course those can't touch a small 2cell 850mAH 20C lipo.

I'm thinking of getting one to chase away the bloody cats shitting all over my house. Will it be painful enough without causing permanent harm? I'm not a torturer, I just want to scare them off.

i've bought some stuff from the seller and did asked about that.
his opinion was, it's ok, but quality not as nice as actual nerf product. trigger might require modding.
but your reason to buy is somewhat . rival balls are not that cheap or easily attainable. to shoot stray cats and dogs, look around for those cheap airsoft springers. usually found at some random kedai runcit. goes for about rm10-20. you don't even have to hit the target, just shoot at your gate to cause the "ding" sound and they will run. yes, i do it all the time .

Get a 'pressurised' type soaker. Water will not harm/hurt the cat and you don't need to pick-up the ammo back.
Or just buy a cheap foam type water cannon for pool use.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention of course I wanted to get toy gun to play with my kids. Starting my collection with several nerf elites but fascinated by the higher powered Rivals.
Edit - I do realise the rival balls are very pricy. Taobao has some cheaper clones. Spring BB's may be the way I guess to scare off the darned cats.
