I follow Detective Q manga, but when I see the anime its just the same thing but with moving animation. Damm I got bored reading it.Looks like I will not read other manga to spoil the fun of watching the series. What do you think?

Watch the anime, and when the anime ends before the manga. Read it for extra goodness

>_<

I read manga if it interest me. Most of the time manga were read before an anime was anounced, so err, had no idea if it will spoil the anime or not.

Some manga conversion to anime were done on a very different scale (ie Negima) so those no problems whatsoever.

Meh, if you want to watch a series without feeling dissatisfied, never read manga. An anime can never beat a manga as the mangaka will always have an edge, both illustration wise and storyline wise. For me, I only watch non manga anime

But for anime like Bleach and Naruto.. Its better off to read the manga than watching the super boring filler in it. lolz..

Been reading the Naruto manga. Watching the anime was never the same again.

Especially with all those fillers.

some anime & manga storylines differ. so it would be worthwhile to watch & read both the anime & manga.

eg. FMA

There are some animes that really don't make justice of the manga. Take Rurouni Kenshin for example. Watsuki Nobuhiro was so incensed by it that he banned the animation of the third arc of his manga. It was logical really, as the filler eps was nonsense and the series was getting screwed by the minute

RK was different, made no sense, but to me I liked it that extra bit. RK is an anime that I don't mind watching again. MAR and Detective Q have direct adaptations. And with MAR which is also like Recca it is a new version of DBZ fighting to save the world. Which most of the time I either use 32x speed or at least 2x speed to view it.

Yea I really have to agree on this particular one.

The manga was awesome, the anime was ever degrading sweat.gif

I didn't really like the OVA bout his past either,I thought it was done much better in the manga.

True, the OVA was too damn dark and saddening. in teh manga, there are light moments that are signiture of the RuroKen series

RK... i hated the fillers as it's dumb...
but the OVA series, the one about his past was portrayed well for me. a little boring talks but the storyline is saddening.. the anime added some info that expanded the view of the manga..

but the 2nd OVA series was just ... weak.... but i like the ending... just the first half was way off course...

Not saying I hate the story part of it,but to me the facial expressions were all portrayed pretty wrong in the OVA of his past. It's like they made new personalities for Kenshin and Tomoe (I love both of them in the manga, hate the OVA rendition of em) Don't know how to explain it,I just felt it was all wrong tongue.gif

Plus they drew Tomoe pretty badly sad.gif

Well if the anime doesn't differ from the manga then you're just better off reading the manga (reading and watching both would be a waste of time). I always thought animes were done to increase the popularity of a manga or was done to satisfy fanboys.

Then again, funny animes are always an exception because it's better watching the anime (ie Ouran High School)

looks like I will stop buying that MAR comic, and buy Detective Q only. MAR anime is faster than the manga.
