checked gamers hideout and impulse.. both out of stock for the black/turquoise one.

Just get it online/abroad. It's way cheaper.
It's about rm550 overseas. Got to keep in mind for region lock though.

i found some website selling japanese version for rm600.
If i buy that one, will the system be in japanese language and can play jpn games only?

last handheld i had was gba advance. been wanting to buy nds for years, only now i can afford. haha

also, what about pal, ntsc thing? 2ds is region locked?

Yes region locked.
It's about rm550 in Japan.

You can only play Japanese games.
It's possible to install CFW on it. However, you need either
1. Hardmod
2. A special Cartridge
3. Another Japanese 3ds which was modded.
Too troublesome


US should be the same region as us though.

Thanks for your help. The only cheap ones i can find are japanese version. AUS/USA are the same price as asia edition.
Buying from amazon + delivery charge, the total amount i need to pay will be around 900+ too.

Get someone in Singapore to send it to you I guess ? If you've any relatives or friends there.

Yeap. Somehow they lumped US and Malaysia/Singapore together.
That's why many here use a Canada/US Account for digital downloads.

Malaysia are using US region, so if you buy from Amazon US sure can.

How to buy from US Nintendo eShop without needing to buy a US Nintendo eShop gift card:

1. Sign up for a Nintendo Account. This is NOT the same as your NNID/eShop account.

2. Link your NNID to your Nintendo Account.

3. Follow the onscreen steps to enter NNID and password. (The NNID date of birth and country settings must match with the ones entered on the Nintendo Account)

4. Go to the Nintendo Shop menu and click Merge Funds.

5. Enter your Nintendo Account password, then confirm. The current balances from your Nintendo Account and NNID will appear.

6. Select “Merge Funds” to combine them together. Your balances will be merged.

7. Select the game you want to buy in the Online Game Store. (eg. Pokémon Silver)

8. Click “Buy Digital” and enter your Nintendo Account password to confirm. You will be asked to add funds (if your eShop balance is empty).

9. Click “Credit Card” or “PayPal”. Malaysian-issued ones are accepted. Enter your details when prompted.

10. You will be shown a Purchase Confirmation page. You can “Cancel” the transaction, or “Purchase” to buy. Purchase receipt will be shown and sent to your Nintendo Account email.

(As a side note, this will also allow you to add a Malaysian-issued bank card to the eShop app on the 3DS.)

Hi, planning to buy 2ds xl sometime in the future. Appreciate some advice

are the special editions like pikachu or poke ball editions are limited production? Will it become very hard to find in the future? Thinking to put off the buying until April 2018

Prices range from 800 -1k from the shops I looked at, but the warranty provided by the shops varied from 1 month to 1year, although they are all Maxsoft sets. Are the hardware any different from one another? Is the additional warranty worth the additional premium?
