Hi all, While window shopping in LowYat today, I came across the IPro Livepad 8.9, aWindows 8.1 with Bing tablet, Atom 1.8GHz, 2Gb RAM, 16/32 Gb storage device with microHDMI-out and microSD card. https://www.facebook.com/IPRO.MALAYSIAHas anyone gotten one? Can you share your experience? Looks like good bang for the buck, much better than Joibook or the 1Gb RAM Acer Iconia. This post has been edited by joytest: Feb 22 2015, 08:57 PM

Well, nowadays there are micro-usb + USB pendrives with only a small premium, so that isn't much of a problem. Besides, the micro-usb port also serves as a charging port, so it's a BOM reduction issue. The sales guy did say it supported 128Gb. I should have plugged in my spare 64Gb card to test it out. If it supports 64Gb it WILL support 128Gb and higher. Even with the regular price of RM899 for the 32Gb version, I do think it's quite worthwhile. However budget this month is busted

I got to try it yesterday, pretty nifty. Slim type, good tactile feel, INCLUDING a touch pad. On its own that is already very good. It's bluetooth and you can pair it with anything you want.

QUOTE(qkumber @ Mar 30 2015, 03:57 PM) nice nick... How does it feel as an e-reader? Did you get the keyboard as well? Just wonder if you could test the HDMI output.

QUOTE(qkumber @ Mar 30 2015, 07:01 PM) hahaha yeah it feels good as an e-reader. i bought the 32gb pad + keyboard + its fashion casing for rm999. also have tested using autocad in it hehehe. yup tested d hdmi (bought hdmi to micro hdmi adapter), played movies, but better set it up as extended since its 1200 (vs 1080 tv) however memory is small for me since im using google drive for all my devices, however bought the sd card also, now work like a boss Autocad? Did you open an A1 or A0 sized drawing ? How's the performance for Autocad? I'm thinking whether to get this or to get one of the Core M devices.

Core M is based on the performance Core Haswell architecture, whereas Atom is based on a castrated low power platform although Atom is finally approaching first gen Core performance after 7 years.
Intel cares extremely much about market segmentation and how much they can rape the consumer maximize profit from each architecture.

QUOTE(qkumber @ Mar 31 2015, 05:10 PM) in real-life performance? which 1 is better? I don't have devices based on either, but I have been reading reviews that Core M is snappier. This may also be due to Core M devices having 4Gb RAM or more, and it is an evolution of the higher end Haswell of the i3, i5 and i7 families. Note however that Atom has always been purposely castrated in its performance due to Intel's paranoia over segment cannibalization. A reading of the architecture will also reveal the internal bus speeds of both processors and definitely Core M trashes the Atom. Intel Inside for both yes, but performance as per what you are willing to pay for.

QUOTE(wakaru9 @ Apr 22 2015, 10:56 AM) After trying hard reset, now i'm able to enter it's bios but cannot do anything because no keyboard and touch not function inside bios....so, just force turn off and on again, then the device boots....maybe need to talk to them about the power button issue...wait for next post...if I'm not lazy laa... Kudos for you. We would love to see your review.

QUOTE(xxboxx @ Apr 26 2015, 11:39 AM) If you're looking for Win 8.1 tablet, suggest you to read more about Onda V919 or Teclast X98 Air 3G. These tablet hardware feels like iPad Air with Win 8.1 with Bing inside. Some key highlight of these tablet: Atom Z3736F (max 2.14Ghz) 2048x1536 screen resolution 2GB RAM 64GB ROM OTG, 3G, micro SD-card, 2 camera HDMI out for X98 Price can get around RM800-900 I have written review of the X98 at here.Thank you. It is a nice and good review, and competition is good. Price of the X98 is also very attractive with 3G included. Bummer about the RAM though. Perhaps they will release an X98s with the X7 Atoms and 4Gb RAM.
