Hi all,

While window shopping in LowYat today, I came across the IPro Livepad 8.9, aWindows 8.1 with Bing tablet, Atom 1.8GHz, 2Gb RAM, 16/32 Gb storage device with microHDMI-out and microSD card.

https://www.facebook.com/IPRO.MALAYSIA

Has anyone gotten one?

Can you share your experience?

Looks like good bang for the buck, much better than Joibook or the 1Gb RAM Acer Iconia.

Actually the cpu clock is 1.33ghz,and 1.8ghz is after boost,

They claim the battery could last for 12 hour, which is good for daily light usage

Also the display is superb, i tried it my self in lowyat plaza, it really full HD screen,

The question remain to be answered is what are the max micro sd capacity it could have, and one down side of the tablet which is lack of full size usb port, imho is the best selling point to me, who want to buy usb to micro USB @otg cable, then connect to the another usb device such as pendrive, why not plug the device directly on the tablet?

Well, nowadays there are micro-usb + USB pendrives with only a small premium, so that isn't much of a problem.

Besides, the micro-usb port also serves as a charging port, so it's a BOM reduction issue.

The sales guy did say it supported 128Gb. I should have plugged in my spare 64Gb card to test it out. If it supports 64Gb it WILL support 128Gb and higher.

Even with the regular price of RM899 for the 32Gb version, I do think it's quite worthwhile. However budget this month is busted tongue.gif

Haha, spec wise, this tablet definitely kill Lenovo and Acer win 8.1 tablet, for promo price at 799 with bluetooth keyboard case, totally worth it.

I might grab one and replace my gaming laptop with this for office work.

I got to try it yesterday, pretty nifty. Slim type, good tactile feel, INCLUDING a touch pad. On its own that is already very good. It's bluetooth and you can pair it with anything you want.

Saw this ad on Intel Malaysia Facebook Page today.

user posted image

From the specs, it's powered by Intel and that's a good enough reason for me to consider this tablet. Since it's powered by Windows 8.1, it can be a really good secondary/on-the-go device to compliment my laptop/desktop usage. The Counter Strike video definitely opened up my eyes on how much the tablet can do.

Should really consider this tablet if you are looking for something sub RM1,000.

Sadly, I can't find any review on the Internet yet and neither both FB pages have testimonials from fans who have purchased them, that's why I ended up here. Someone should start commenting about the tablet on their Facebook pages.

Erm, I don't really have a problem with the resolution. I'm using Acer W4 with 1280x800 and it seem just nice in landscape. Can't read a thing in portrait mode. I wonder about high resolution with this screen size. I think it would be useful since I only mirror them to my TV as media player. When I mirror using W4, my TV won't play nicely. I had to extend the display and drag the movie over to enjoy full screen 1080P. Given the lousy GPU, you still had to lower the resolution if you are planning to game.

I would wait until cherry trail and see if the gpu would make use of higher resolution screen.

www.hardwarezone.com.my/m/review-ipro-livepad-89-16gb-tablet-could

Here's a pretty good review on it. The TL;DR is that it's a really good tablet for the price, is well built and the accessories are also affordable. The downsides are that the tablet is heavy and it doesn't have much storage.

From my experience, the tablet is pretty impressive for the price. Display is super gooding, and the Windows button being on the side is so useful that I can't imagine it being positioned anywhere else.

Core M is based on the performance Core Haswell architecture, whereas Atom is based on a castrated low power platform although Atom is finally approaching first gen Core performance after 7 years.

Intel cares extremely much about market segmentation and how much they can rape the consumer maximize profit from each architecture.

I don't have devices based on either, but I have been reading reviews that Core M is snappier.

This may also be due to Core M devices having 4Gb RAM or more, and it is an evolution of the higher end Haswell of the i3, i5 and i7 families.

Note however that Atom has always been purposely castrated in its performance due to Intel's paranoia over segment cannibalization.

A reading of the architecture will also reveal the internal bus speeds of both processors and definitely Core M trashes the Atom.

Intel Inside for both yes, but performance as per what you are willing to pay for.

Hmm. Wonder how Windows 10 will look on this thing. I certainly will look forward to IPRO whenever considering a sub-9 inch Windows tablet (I'm abandoning Windows Phone [can you believe I'm still on 7.8] for Android on the phablet [WP app ecosystem just won't expand to the ones I REALLY need/want]). But me still needs a Windows tablet to fill my on-the-go touch/type/read work.

Purchase one yesterday for review & testing includes with Keyboard which cost around RM139.
First review, keyboard was lousy..after first attempt to connect to the bluetooth keyboard, suddenly cannot detect connect anymore. No bluetooth detected when scan.
2nd, the standby button easily to put your tab to sleep mode but hard to wake it up using the same button.
3rd, after charged the device and going to sleep...next morning, the device dead already. Cannot turn on or do anything.

Hahaha. I'm doing video review...but before posting the video, ask for a replacement first...if cannot, then I upload the video to public...haha

Well yes, 1.8ghz is quite fast for light usage, but bare in mind, 1.8ghz turbo boost only achievable if cpu temp are low, once it hit certain temp, it will reduce to stock 1.33ghz, this usually happen when playing games since Intel HD graphics is part of the cpu it self.

What will happen is depend on your cpu load at the time, for example, switching tab in Chrome could be slower if too many tab are opened at once. To be safe, the tablet is powered by intel atom 1.33ghz only, max frequency is a bonus

If you're looking for Win 8.1 tablet, suggest you to read more about Onda V919 or Teclast X98 Air 3G.
These tablet hardware feels like iPad Air with Win 8.1 with Bing inside.

Some key highlight of these tablet:
Atom Z3736F (max 2.14Ghz)
2048x1536 screen resolution
2GB RAM 64GB ROM
OTG, 3G, micro SD-card, 2 camera
HDMI out for X98
Price can get around RM800-900

I have written review of the X98 at here.

Thank you.

It is a nice and good review, and competition is good. Price of the X98 is also very attractive with 3G included.

Bummer about the RAM though. Perhaps they will release an X98s with the X7 Atoms and 4Gb RAM.

Yep, it can be applied to any turboboost enabled intel cpu.
Desktop and laptop have dedicated heat sink fan, while tablet relies solely on passive cooling.

Just found out, ipro livepad, or entire ipro company actually selling Ramos products.
Ipro livepad 8.9 is actually Ramos i9S. the costing is actually lower than actual ramos i9s.
from china. the seller is cheating, or the entire company is cleaning dirty money?
all ramos products 100% identical with IPro.

first is illegear, now is ipro. great malaysia bolehland.
