The old Daikin I bought 2 years back aer still in good condition. The thing I like about Daikin is that it's quiet.

We recently bought for our mom's house Daikin GA - Cooling King. This is actually York (the new name is Dakin GA Coooling King).
The look is very "plasticky" - looks very cheap and it makes noisy sound as compared to the old Daikin.

I tried to order the older version Daikin but the seller (in Kajang) said they have no stock and they have been waiting for 3 months for the stocks. I personally prefers the old Daikin

Price: MYR 840 (excl. GST and excl. installation)

I am about to install new a/c for the house

When the ac guy ask me what brand I prefer.
Panasonic or Daikin. I choose Daikin

Then he ask me the York Daikin(recently changed name) or original Daikin?

Please advise

Was talking to some dealers and the story as below.

Daikin is now being sold with GA only. That is why the Singh picture is with Daikin now.

York will be sold under new company and no longer associated with Daikin. Not sure where is the origin of the new York unit yet... heard from some dealer that the new York units are from China.

The plant in Malaysia belongs to Daikin, not York. So, York has no factory in Malaysia.
