Product Introduction
The TL-WPA4220KIT is a Starter Kit for 300Mbps AV500 Wi-Fi Powerline Extender by TP-LINK. The Standard Retail Price for the TL-WPA4220KIT in Malaysia is RM119.00 (single pack) / RM179.00 (twin pack). This product will extend your Internet connection to every room through your home’s existing electrical circuit.
Content of the package includes :-
• TL-PA4010 unit
• TL-WPA4220 unit
• 2 x RJ45 Cable
• Resource CD
• Quick Start Guide

TP-LINK TL-WPA4220KIT Features:
• Wi-Fi Clone Button simplifies your Wi-Fi configuration and helps build a seamless unified home network
• HomePlug AV standard providing up to 500Mbps high speed data transmission over a home’s existing electrical wiring, ideal for lag-free HD or 3D video streaming and online gaming
• Extend 300Mbps wireless connections to previously hard-to-reach areas of your home and office
• Two Ethernet ports allow your TVs, game consoles, or PCs connect to the Internet
• Up to 300-meter range over the household power circuit
• Easy to install, just plug in and play
• 128-bit AES encryption easily at a push of "Pair" Button
• Supports IGMP managed multicast IP transmission, optimizing IPTV streaming

Personal Review
For this review, I have setup this TL-WPA4220KIT Starter Kit with the TL-WDR4300 router (read review here).

What’s Powerline Technology ?
• Also known as HomePlug®
• A very simple and reliable way to connect devices to the Internet and one another using your home’s existing electrical wiring.
• Theoretical connection speed up to 1.2Gbps.
• Suitable to connect devices without Wi-Fi support.

Installation
Installing the TL-WPA4220KIT starter kit is very simple. Connect the TL-PA4010 to an electrical socket (on wall, not power strip**) and connect the Ethernet cable to your router’s LAN port. For this review, I plug the cable into any LAN port (yellow) on the TL-WDR4300 router. Subsequently, plug in the TL-WPA4220 to another electrical socket in any room (which requires better Wi-Fi coverage).
**I did test by connecting the TL-PA4010 on a surge power strip and it works too. But you may degrade the network quality/speed of the Powerline network.

Basically this starter kit will create a Powerline network and extend your current Wi-Fi coverage in your home. The TL-WPA4220 has 2 Ethernet ports which suitable to connect your Smart TV, Game Console, Personal Computer, Media players, etc., to the Internet.
The TL-WPA4220 provides better performance than normal Wi-Fi Extender because you can leverage on any electrical socket in your home to get better Wi-Fi coverage.

To make easier to connect the TL-WPA4220 to your existing Wi-Fi network, you can utilise the Wi-Fi Clone button (aka WPS). It will automatically copy the wireless network name (SSID) and Password of your router at the push of a button. After pressing the Wi-Fi Clone button, you can place the TL-WPA4220 anywhere and enjoy seamless networking across your entire home or office. With this feature, you do not need to configure the TL-WPA4220 via web browser.

The TL-WPA4220KIT supports 128-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) to secure your Powerline network. Just press and hold the Pair button on the TL-WPA4220 for 1 second. Next press and hold the Pair button on the TL-PA4010 for 1 second (complete 2nd step within 2 minutes).

You may download the complete TL-WPA4220KIT User Guide.

I think is not working because powerline are using electrical wires to communicate, then powerline impossible to pass through different electric meter box.
