IMO, beetle is not good for wedding, unless u get (or make it) a soft top/rag top/ topless.
do notice that the beetle is a 2door saloon and the rear is damn pack. unless u're saying let the groom drive and bride sit beside.but that hardly happens.
so if renting for wedding,u might wana find a kombi, or a safari, which is seriously pricey. or else occasionally u can rent your beetle for advertisement, mtv etc.
my beetle was featured in an MTV smile.gif
*
Actually, there are people, I mean bridegroom will drive the wedding car himself, a few of my clients did that.
Which MTV your beetle featured in? got the youtube link? smile.gif

As for camera, I must use DSLR, it's like killing me if I can't see the instant result tongue.gif

Added on April 18, 2012, 7:42 pmKombi very hard to find oh...

yesterday go and see whats the problem..
have to change new blocks and heads..also the clutch plate was almost out..
well that would be as well the valve, bearings, piston rings, and might be the rods..

the blocks seems have done overhaul many times, the crank shaft place has been put shims..
and because of that, engine leak from the place where the pulley was, and flooding whole engine.. sweat.gif

my mechanic already started changing the parts yesterday, he said in week the bug can be done flex.gif
but really, my pocket was burned cry.gif

to my knowledge :

your heads looks useable although there're alot of carbon residue. i've overhauled my own engine before and it looked almost the same (worse actually)
changing new blocks???that could cost a bomb and not sure JPJ approve. change block is almost equal to change engine (punch engine number yourself?)
I also grind my own valves, wash the pistons and reuse the rods.

things i changed when i overhaul my engine are push rode tubes, engine rebuild kit, piston rings...

As far as i remember, crank shaft place memang ade shims laa...i think about 5shims.before the shims there's a oil seal. u should check the oil seal instead of blaming the shims..hehehe..

Clutch plate is advised to change anyhow since u've dropped the engine.

also, do check your starter motor too. if your mechanic has the tool, check the compression ratio. check the oil pump and fuel pump.

no it can be use but for short lifespan,, around 5 month to 1 year only..inside was totally out
inside yeah shims, but not that shim's the problem, it's the pulley place..
so it's connecting to all the place..
on the block we do punch number, and it's 80% same like new.. brows.gif
oil seal also out... in these 2 weeks check out everything down to the details..
so choose to change.. almost done actually... cool.gif
