Added on November 14, 2008, 11:30 ammy front use boge(dunno spelling wrong or not)..koni expensive..i try to use kabaya(dunno spelling) or those 2nd hand tein lor..can modify wan leh..i saw my friend just weld another ring on the top of the actual absorber ring..

the 4wd absorber is kind of hard to find..summore is gas wan leh so he ask me to get those aftermarket performace absorber then modify it...

as what i know,boge has alot of complaint on it...since it's believed to be made in china...(dun care wat it prints there..)
as for kayaba...it's not oem so yeah u need to modify it...and i also heard that kayaba not as long last as bilstein or sachs ...
about tein...i tot u meant bilstein...i never heard of tein...hahaha

well..i dunno i get the spelling rite or not..is tien or tein..lots of those sportcar using wan..the icon of that tien/tein also damn cute wan..

radio tu gila mahal lar..kalau beli satu bijik radio tu..baik i men-laju-kan beetle saya dengan harga tu..radio tu kawan saya pergi thailand punya kedai runcit volkswagen..name dia volkspare..banyak barang dia orang jual..boleh buat 1 bijik kereta baru kat situ..

tein punya barang bagus..harga pun bagus..tapi kalau saya nak modify..saya beli yang 2nd hand punya lar.. tak ada wang ma..

u have to go to JB man...
put in a rotary engine...
hehehehe...
but for me, overhauling the engine,if got money,lighten the flywheel,crank,rocker everything u can lighten in the engine...
oh,and use aftermarket sports pushrods and also tuned rocker arm with slightly nudged end and different valve (of course the spring too) and specific clearance,use better distributor,provide better electricity...
wow...the list just goes on n on n on....
i think for better performance u've gotta ask a specialist or visit the samba forum.

normally wat we have and can do over here is 1.6 engine..twin crab..and exhaust with a little low rider..that is enough already..

the more performace part u put in ur engine..the more ur engine won't last that long..but depends how is the setup u having..my friend build a 2387cc engine..last around 9 years..then recently the rocker arm spoil..same goes with the rest of those performance parts..

Added on November 14, 2008, 3:01 pmada kawan saya masuk subaru punya engine..1.8 kot..dah lupa..kat m'sia sekarang ni..rasa rasanya ada 8 atau 9 bijik beetle pakai engine tu..bunyi comfirm macam subaru..sebab engine pun sudah subaru ma.. tapi kawan saya cakap 9 bijik..ada 3 atau 4 sudah hancur..addicent ma..semua hancur berkecai...termasuk kereta kawan saya..

kat johor ada orang tau buat ni...kawan saya pun buat kat johor..

but anyhow..johor lots of ppl can do nice nice beetle..but becareful..their "knife" very "sharp"..if they thought u are from singapore..they will give u "singapore price"..

also another guy called Jit Ming or something with Ah Ming at johor..he is good in doing/building up a engine even he have lots of idea how to do beetle up with a stronger way..but becareful..he is kind of cunning..be smart..

the car with tat "big" fan..cost 40k..i think is 40k SG..cause the owner of that car is from SG..look at the exhaust..is cerimic(dunno spelling) coated wan..

1.8 & 2.0 tu kena "buat" sendiri..beli barang barang..baru boleh buat..kalau tak nak "buat" sendiri..beli engine subaru yang saya cakap tu..engine boleh terus pasang kat beetle..tapi kena ada adaptor untuk sambung engine tu kat gearbox lar..adaptor tu senang nak dapat jer..

i believe his friend was talking about the old flat four porsche engine that alot pppl used to fit into beetle...

lol..that engine is classic that can screw up ur car if u dun handle with care.. also that engine is kind of hard to get already..in m'sia..i think very limited stock and parts of that engine cost u lot lot of money..

nah...i dun wan moster ride..i wan horse ride..
daily ride with some extra performace when i need it will do well for my beetle..over done my car with performace..i scare i might make my beetle engine life shorter..

also those big big engine..they must have skill to drive it..not to say controling it..is how u drive it..
