Hey forummers and admin i was wondering if its better that we had all the replies posted on our "topics" to also be displayed on our main page feed like our messages?
I mean we get replies to our posts but we dont get replies to our topics on the main page

What you guys think?

Hmm okay its like this
You see on the top right of your page if you have any unread messages or any replies to you right?
The replies are shown to your posts or comments right

But if i want to sell something and post the ad, if people comment on my topic i dont get a notification for that.
I have to go to my topic and open it to make sure that if anyone has commented or not
So thats what im hoping for. a notification for people commenting on YOUR topics

There's actually a way to achieve that, but I can make it easier:

1) When you create your topic, tick "Enable email notification of replies?". I think I'll change this to be ticked by default.

2) For any topic including your own, look for "Track this topic". You can track it with or without email notification, either way it will notify you when there are replies. I'm not sure how I can make this feature more obvious, or maybe it's fine the way it is.

Why dont the thread starter will automatically "Track this topic" after thread created..

I still prefer if the notification reply is if someone reply to me, not whenever someone update the thread. Just my personal preference anyway.....

And the notification still show, even if I am not the thread starter

i dont like this features
still prefer notification when someone replied my post not someone replied in thread

i like it very much! as a seller, always had to track my topic, if i forgot to tick it, i will late replied to some post, really good indeed

As TS of one of the threads in FnF subforum, it is very confusing...

and to a certain extent, annoying.

BTW you can opt out by unsubscribing your thread in the control panel.

I think maybe make it a feature only at certain sections which benefits from it, like Garage Sales?

This is awesome!! I had to always subscribe to my own topic to get the notifications :/ This is great!!

I use the track topic function to topics i started, or even other topics created by somebody else.


However, it will be nice if user were asked to track topic once he opens new thread, user can select yes or no to it.
