It's a decent speaker for karaoke.
If you want more bass, can get a 2.1 speaker system.

Based on the above, I understand C3x is a better option for regular usage compare to R2730DB.

How about S1000DB vs C3x or S530D ?

I am planning to use it in regular bedroom, any thoughts?

depends on your needs actually.. C3x got external amp you might want to consider the placing of the amp. S series have better bass if you r a bass freak. S1000DB have the bluetooth connectivity.

It may help if you can advise the connection type and what kind of audio you are looking at

Not looking for extra bass or external amp, bluetooth can have or don't have.

it depends on your needs and room size.

s1000db is good for close range listening and far range music listening.

those with subwoofer (c3x and s530d), need some extra legroom.
medium to big room is recommended for 2.1 speaker setup.
small room tends to echo the bass.
subwoofer one are good for movie with lots of explosion or bass.

if 80% is music listening (s1000db or the latest s2000 pro from Edifier).
if 80% is movie watching (explosion) and gaming (explosions), then c3x or s530d.

Seems like 2.0 setups are better for music then, no?

Sorry, I'm considering all Edifier speakers at the moment and I want to make sure.

If you are used to Edifier Luna Speakers, there is a possibility where you may not like the R2730DB (or any of the Edifier studio monitors lineup such as the R2700, R2730DB or R2800). Reason being, the highs on the studio monitor is significantly much lower and does not feel "forward" enough even after maxing the treble to its max. I discover this after comparing between the S1000DB, S2000DB ad other non-studio Edifier bookshelf speakers. Personally for me, listening to studio doesn't make my ears fatigue compared to non-studio, perhaps I'm so used to studio speakers (using it for approximately 2 years) :-)

The interesting thing I love about Edifier's studio speakers is gives a feeling of a 2.2 speaker (as if dual stereo bass projecting towards me instead of a single strong bass from a subwoofer)

R2000DB bass is super strong and hard, and treble can go very high to satisfy treble-lovers. For me, I'm favor mellow bass and R2000DB plays bass really hard which I feel is not as natural compared to Edifier studio's speaker and 2.1 speaker system. Both speaker R2730DB and R2000DB has Bluetooth and optical, so its good.

Since you have a 2.0 speaker, why not a 2.1 speaker? (something different a bit) The one I would highly recommend would be Edifier latest 2.1 speaker which is Edifier S350DB. I found this speaker on promo on the 11.11 Single event for around RM850 which is a great bargain (MSRP RM1,1K+)

Yeah, 2.0 setups for music and if you are a bass lover, I would recommend the 2.1 speaker route.
Currently the Edifier S350DB 2.1 speaker system is one of the setup that I recommend for music and movie/TV as well.

I missed 11.11 already actually, but I were also considering something like A5+ from Audioengine or HD3 from Audioengine. I don't think there is any chance for me to go with 2.1 or 5.1, not really interested in having that kind of bass, more like, whatever is possible with a 2.0 setup.

It is interesting that you say that R2000DB has a good hard hitting bass, as I would love that. How about its treble? Does it have enough treble to satisfy an ultra-treble lover? Do you feel that S1000DB or S200DB would be better for me?

I need the most treble and hardest bass I can get actually, and I am increasing the treble of Luna via EQ by + 5 db at 16 kHz, so I guess I like treble quite a lot. I am asking your advice because you heard them and return is quite hard here....

I bought a S2000MK II from taobao, the bluetooth connection seems to have some problem, when my pc or devices lagged due to insufficient processing power, it will have a loud stuttering sound..

So far i really like this speaker in terms in musicality, but lacking in bass department when I need it for some movie

I went ahead and ordered S1000DB to see how it sounds.

I have Luna right now connected with the subwoofer of a Logitech X-530 for better bass response.

I compared Edifier Luna with a HiFiMAN RE2000 IEM, and now I kinda wanted to upgrade.

@Sky.Live You're using BT or normal cable? You shouldn't have lag unless you're using BT, which cannot be avoided regardless of what processing power you have

I would recommend you to grab the S2000DB for casual music listening. Studio monitor speakers like the R2700, R2730DB and R2800 has not much high treble pitch. For me, I work on videos and music, therefore I use studio monitor speakers.

S2000DB is not available in Romania, and there was a sale on S1000DB, so I went with that.

If the R series doesn't have enough treble, that would be a problem, since I want them for music listening and movies and I love a strong top end!

Edifier Lazada is currently having 12/12/2017 deals.

The R2730DB on Lazada is RM639 is not a good deal since it has been sold for the same price by other merchants previously.

Hi, just wanna to find out anyone having the same problem. My S2000pro produce sort of cracking sound on heavy bass music when the bass EQ is turned more the +2.

You might want to audition this speaker first.

It's a studio monitor speaker, and it sounds neutral.
Lacks of highs and deep bass that is found from the regular Edifier bookshelf speakers and 2.1 speaker system.

Personally for me, when I listen to the songs from Edifier R2730DB for a long period, my ears don't get fatigue compared to the normal speakers that has shaped the speaker to sound heavy bass and piercing high.
