Since Im not Melanau nor care about Melanau also I just stick to simple rule that all insect except locusts are haromm.

Back when I was in school days, we are taught about this in sekolah agama also, got supporting ulamak also say kenot but I forgot who and which of his book.

but again if argue about makanan tradisional blah blah then the history of how liqor become haromm (tldr to write not bother to kutbah here) can easily make that excuse invalid.

Why make report on fatwa on eating mulung and miling ritual in a sentence. This can cause confusion.
Earlier another stated the larvae is of 'dua dunia'. Is it? Thus making it haram to consumed by muslims.
On another note the 'temilok' is halal by muslims without any basis.

the thing is ulat sagu is not explicitly mentioned in any forms of teachings n academic books on the haram n what not in Islam. hence the confusion n disappointment n eventually ignoring the haram call

Yes. If not explicitly stated by book, then mufti will discuss and decide. If mufti say so, then it become 'official' for people or gomen associated with him la.
