you need to back-test average pip movement for FOMC,
if you never traded news before STAY OUT, don't risk it,
if you have, know the magic of pending orders laugh.gif

Yeah. My friend only taught me using analysis to play trading. He said is either you go for fundamental or analysis. Depend on news need to rely heavily on it and consume too much time. hmm.gif

LOL 7K.... so much for junk ya
Well, it all depends on movements... if stock A is oil based and stock B is consumer, stock A up 10% but stock B down 30% where will the index be?

Not bad ftse, will be looking at this.. something brewing...

If trading by looking on 1 element instead of others, congratulations, you are done. thumbup.gif

You need analysis and basic Fundamental.

Just like yesterday, why I will never mentioned a words about FOMC?

Because it will just give some impact, not at much as the real FOMC. Everyone saw FOMC, print a words in their mind and microscopic the words "FOMC" extereme high impact. There are couple type of FOMC. FOMC (Minutes), FOMC (Statement), FOMC (Congress Meeting).

What is the meaning of FOMC (Minutes)? FOMC Minutes means it is just the small figures from last month meeting. Then what high impact it will have? Everybody already know what Janet Yellen said last month, isn't it? If last month meeting no hike on interest rates, where will come out hike interest rates on the minutes?

FOMC Statement on 30th April are the important which will bring extreme high volatility, and extreme low volatility before that announce something that nobody knows. FED FUND RATES? Does it so important? People read fundamental said FED RATES important, but actual announcement of FED RATES are not that important anymore. Because interest rates will build investor interest only with "expectation on interest rate hikes" rather than the announcement.

Know something are not good enough on trading, the most important is to understand it.

Not even this can see some sort of EUR/USD gonna fail. One nice Rising Wedges, and One Nice Falling Wedges.
People won't get use of it because they believe those "Rumors", price action have naked charts.

When you see a lot of things, that means no safe trades. When you see nothing, that's safe to trade. brows.gif

This is good 1. Have a read.

http://www.thefix.com/content/are-you-trading-or-gambling

And so it goes. Traders boot up their computers, turn on their trading platforms and become hypnotized by the flickering ticks. Each tick of the market represents the sum total of the greed and fear of every single one of the millions of people trading at that time.

I love this quotes because it have no difference with slots machines. All advance and current market slot machines give you always win some coins, but your mind process it as you had won big 1.

Slot machines has no human at the other end other than yourself. Result of the slot is entirely system.

Trading however is derived by human factor, not system. Not just you but every single person who click on the buy/sell button. Be it news, panic buy/sell, ranging low activity..etc. Hence the difference between slot machine and forex is..psychology and cognitive.

In my position, i have the chance to meet up with high level member from IBM. They have this system call "Watson" which they would be eager to sell the service to us. Watson is like your sci-fi "Skynet" or Siri alike, rather smart. However, they will need to load huge amount of data, it will give you some interesting answer. Even medical diagnosis and stats of right meds to use for the symptom.

I was asking can we actually use it on forex and stock market so Watson can predict market movement. Answer is no. As there is too much human driven factor here supplemented with economic event. It was attempted before but result wasn't convincing. Even AI cannot trade with technical data alone.
